Which is possible the last time we had a player/midfielder that could score that amount of goals was.....er.....errrr..... And people want to sell him and spend 12million on Rhodes who's goal return would be similar. I want us to sign Rhodes but selling ince would be crackers imo. There's no point in selling ince and replacing his goals with Rhodes and paying him double what ince is on
If Rhodes was going to happen, it would have been while we were in the premier league. Not a chance now.

Would be a great outcome. 7m for Jela and N'doye, maybe 4m for Hernandez would give s very nice coffers.

Selling players that cost £20m, for £11m, within a year, is really not a great outcome. I think it's more likely that we'll try and get most of our money back on Jelavic and N'Doye(about £8m), then Hernandez will go on a season long loan in Italy.

Fair point but we obviously don't have the same position of power we had last summer when we sold Long at a huge profit. I would rather have 11m coming into the coffers than nothing. Add to that the savings in wages, etc. I agree Hernandez going on loan may be a possibility, with a clause that if we don't achieve promotion he leaves for an agreed price with said club.

Bruce should have known better, if he had pushed through both Austin and Rhodes deals we'd be sitting on £27m for 2 players.

Why buy proven players from the English leagues when you can spunk £10m on a foreign division 2 no mark? With the hope that you strike it lucky? Your policy would be far too sensible.
Forgot which team I supported for a second...

Just buy British for ****s sake...if he wants a foreign player make it a loan, if they turn out to be **** then no great loss

People really need to stop pointing the finger at Bruce over not signing Austin. He wanted him and saw the player at a bargain £5m that most others missed. We were the head of the queue remember? It's not down to Bruce that we didnt sign him .

Bruce would have put an end to austins career anyway, not played to his strengths he'd have scored 6 goals and we'd be shipping him out for next to nothing and looking for another striker

Do I hear a Bruce out coming?

You mean like when he signed the unwanted Darren Bent from Spurs where he was scoring fewer than 1 in 3 and then sold him for a hefty profit after he scored more than 1 in 2?

Hindsight truly is a wonderful thing, isn't it? HOW DARE BRUCE NOT LOOK INTO THE FUTURE!

It was the right thing to do at the time.

Wasn't there a sell on clause in Inces loan contract to Derby for 6m quid if they wanted him at the end of the season? If they decided they did want him and met the fee set, did we have to sell him?

I'm pointing the finger at the club as a collective failing. I also didn't mention Austin.

No I mean he signed prozzy for 2.5m and let him go on a free, we'll lose on jelavic and Hernandez. The only person thst can score looks like he's going to Derby.
If you want to drag Sunderland into it, didn't they sack bruce
