Let's just say I would take as a replacement for Hernandez, we have enough weak forwards, that's if we sell him but he wouldn't be my main target to splash all the money on.

Mind you the fact I hate Palace might have something to do with my opinion of him.

Sorry, but that's just bollocks. He was ****e last season, he wasn't that goo the season before and he is average at best this season, so far. As for carrying Livermore, what a joke; I can remember the endless posts on here for Bruce to keep Livermore and drop Hudds - Livermore's bad rep came at season end (almost) with the drug revelation, before that it was generally accepted he was the only CMF earning his salt.

You what?

We will never agree on Livermore. He was terrible ALL last season, end of. Ranting and throwing in a few expletives won't alter that fact. He has my sympathy with respects to what has come out in the press, but seriously, he was utterly ****e last season.

I'm surprised at you Fez. Sometimes you post some knowledgeable stuff like you know a bit about football, then you undo it all by posting some outlandish bollocks.

I can almost understand why the club is hesitant over spending a significant amount on, say two three players when at the moment we really don't know if any other player is going to leave. However, we also do not want to end up buying late impulsively should the likes of Hudd, Elmo, Davies, Jela or Dawson go. What we do need though is three players; a goalkeeper to improve our defensive solidity, a forward (deffo someone like Andre Gray) and also we may need a creative attacking midfielder with a degree of pace (although with Diame hopefully coming back he could maybe slot in their like early last season). Any other players could come in later while the loan window stays open, but at the moment four points and unbeaten is fine. If we make it seven points on Wednesday then we'll be where we want to be.

<laugh> I would hardly call the phrase, "Sorry, but that's just bollocks" the start of a rant and the fact I related everything that followed to things you can easily check on this forum (which I used as my reference) would tend to support that. Are you telling me that the headhunters of this forum (and elsewhere), were not focussing on the poor performance of Huddlestone, rather than Livermore. Who was the CMF better than Livermore? I accept I'm asking you to select from a piss poor pot, but that's the pot being discussed.
Are you offended by the general use of bollocks and ****e? It wasn't even directed at you. Hilarious! <doh> Whatever you do, don't cross swords with Sir Cheshire Ben, you will be eternally offended.
But anyway, even though I often knock SB, I agreed with him keeping Livermore on the pitch and getting Hudds the hell off it.
I don't look for either praise or permission on here, I just give my opinion, if you don't agree then argue your case better than you just did. :emoticon-0105-wink:

I think the train has already left the station with Gray.
Brentford don't need to sell, they don't want to lose him and will only do so for 'silly' money, while whoever is negotiating for us still seems to think we'll get him at market value or less.

At the start of the talks I think we could have got him for £6million + add ons, but with every goal he scores and every stupid bid we put in the price goes up. It wouldn't surprise me if we're now looking at £8million + add ons at least.

The truth is our negotiators have ****ed this one up and it's time to move on, which is a shame because there's every chance that a Grey/ Akpom partnership could have got us the goals for promotion.
ay

Completely agree. This was a massive screw up by whoever our negotiators are...Ehab or ? A Gray/Akpom partnership would be lethal in this division and if it led to promotion might well have been kept together with a decent offer to Arsenal...both young with exciting future goal scoring prospects. All for the sake of 500k we are told. Gray was all set to come here to join his friend Odubajo.

But this boat has sailed. He's already on 20-30 goal pace and next year Brentford could be asking 20 mill. What a f*** up.!!!

With a decent keeper we would be odds on to go up this season, even if we don't buy another forward. Also in hindsight if Bruce had of bought a keeper at the start of last season instead of sticking with Ian Hesford Mk2 in McGregor we would still be a Premier League side today. I don't need to justify my opinion because it's subjective, as is yours, but even so - your opinion is horseshit <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

Agreed, it's best you don't try to justify your opinion, especially when you're behaving like a silly bairn. I notice you don't dispute the core of my argument, but never mind. :emoticon-0103-cool:

You never know... we might end up selling Jela & Hernandez towards the end of the window and go back in with a much improved offer for Gray. If we pay over the odds but he ends up scoring the goals to get us promoted, it will be money well spent.
