I very much doubt the clause would allow that.Surely we have permission to talk to him though now and can sign him without waiting the 21 days.
What about beyond that? By beyond I reckon Bruce has got more targets identified should we lose Elmo, Huddlestone or anyone else we'd rather keep.
I very much doubt the clause would allow that.
The 21 day thing does seem ridiculous. Would that still apply if you smashed the release clause? Say the release was £3.5m but we bid £4.5m does the 21 day rule still apply? There must become a point where it's back in the hands of the player? I have never heard of this 21 day rule in the UK before.I very much doubt the clause would allow that.

sorry just catching up on the thread! We've already clarified my sleepy mind today
"I can math"
What if there are less than 21 days left in the transfer window? Then I suppose you would have to have less than 21 days. I bet someone had a fun time writing it.The 21 day thing does seem ridiculous. Would that still apply if you smashed the release clause? If I was a manager I would let it be known I was interested in a few players in each position. That would concentrate the minds of the selling clubs!I'm guessing there's some strikers lined up other than Gray, if we lose all 3, looks unlikely at the moment as no one will cough up the money yet, then we'll need some more up top!
