Why do we need to replace him? We've got plenty of good Championship quality defenders - it's Championship quality strikers we need.

We need to replace him as we have 4 centre backs, considering we play 3-5-2 (5-3-2 in reality) we need at least one more. Bruce has experimented with 4-4-2 in pre-season yes, but he did this last season for about 3 games and went back to 3-5-2. (Which I must admit that it was mainly due to injuries)

"We have agreed a fee for James Chester. He flew home last night and he's talking terms with West Brom today," manager Steve Bruce told the Mail.

"We wish him the best of luck. It's inevitable when you get relegated. He has been a great servant for us since he joined from Manchester United.

He's been a terrific player. We've lost Robbie (Brady) and now James and hopefully there'll be no more leaving. Everybody has their price and the fee for James is a good one and we wish him the best of luck."

Bruce pays £8 mill for Livermore and sells Chester for £8 mill - Chester should have gone for more but no doubt wanted out to play in the Prem to reinforce his Wales credentials and get a chance to play in the world cup - good luck to him, City's best defender - no doubt would have stayed if Bruce hadn't got us relegated

Now Bruce, spend the ****ing money wisely, no Livermore's etc!

You spend your entire life on a computer screen with the information of the world at your fingertips. You could enlighten me to how many times he played at centre half when starting one of his 20 something matches he played for us last year
You mean OLM is just a computer simulation? I thought he was a real boy!

Let's hope Maguire can turn out as good as Chezzy.

I think he can, definitely, but obviously very differently. Their physical attributes are polar opposites. Dawson going would have been better for Maguire, I think our first choice will be Dawson and Davies now, with Junior 3rd and Maguire 5th behind Ryan Taylor as he's too young and needs protecting.

Players come and go - it's all part of the re-development of a team.

He was **** anyway.....<laugh>

Maguire is now our second choice CB imo

Hopefully no more will be leaving?

Does that mean he's hanging on to the three strickers?
