We've actually been 10th or better 12 times since the war in the 2nd div.
My memory is **** but were we in division 2 in the 90's??
Not really being over dramatic, Nigel spoke about building a team year on year, but there is likely to be 12 players that will leave, that are first team players. That is half the playing squad you have to replace.
12?

We could spunk £30m on wages next season if we wanted and we still wouldn't trouble the FFP rules, Ehab thinks it's our biggest asset.
But that would be 30 million every year for three or four years, on top of our current wage bill?
They won't take that risk.
We will see what happens to these clubs.

They're not going to take any risk, we'll be operating on a shoe-string, I was just pointing out that FFP isn't an issue for us, an owner could keep the current squad together if they were so inclined, FFP isn't forcing us to get rid.

If (and its a ****ing big IF) the Allams intend to leave, they may sell Bowen et al., for a smaller fee than they are worth, but with most of it up front, so they get it all before they go.

you may have included a period when the third tier was called division 2.

Next season is likely to look a bit like this without additions.

Goalkeepers - Long, Burton, Mannion
Right backs: Lichaj, McKenzie
Left Backs: Kingsley, Fleming
Centre Bakcks: Burke, De Wijs. McDonald, McKenzie, Ritson
Midfield: Irvine Steward, Batty, Milinkovic Toral, McKenkie, Sheaf, Hamilton
Forwards: Lewis-Potter ??????????????????????

I put Mckenzie in three as he can be back up for 2 positions.

You forgot Dicko - although describing him as a striker is a bit generous!

We've watched Sammie Szmodics at Colchester a few times this season, he's a had a great run at Colchester, decent attacking midfielder.

I don't mind the approach of signing the best players from lower leagues, it's better than getting Championship cast offs.

Again it will depend on what if anything is given to our manager next season .. the majority of any sales will go into the Allams coffers .. i suspect yet again whomever leads us into next season will have to deal in cast offs .. bargain basement and loans .. the Allams dont give a sh1t about the footballing matters or the fans .. they just see pounds signs.
