Too much to expect anything from Huddersfield and Southampton show they have got something about them. Bottom 3 won’t change IMO
Shame Brighton got that late winner against Udders. They look vulnerable to me as a side but have got a fairly straightforward run in. Having said that. we've still got to play them, Burnley and Fulham. Not being funny, but there are 9 points there that could go anyway if Warnock can cobble something together after West Ham, Chelsea nd Man City. As long as others like Burnley, Brighton and Southampton don't win and pull out a gap over the next fortnight assuming we get nothing, there is still all to play for those last half dozen games.
I like optimism Sparkey, obviously Huddersfield and Fulham are back down however your form atm is not good, your lot or southampton I feel however as usual I will be wrong lol
Looking hard now. Cardiff have WHU, Chelsea, Liverpool & Palace at home. Man City, Burnley, Fulham, Brighton & Man Utd Away We need to get 3 points more than Southampton who have Spurs, Liverpool, Wolves, Bournemouth & Hudders home Brighton, Watford, Newcastle & WHU away The teams in red are the ones we need to take points off.
How frustrating After a superb totally merited win it leaves us where we are due to results elsewhere. I suppose that brings Burnley back into it if Liverpool beat them. Can’t City do what these teams do and beat a top 4 team?
If Burnley lose against Liverpool tomorrow (and they should), we can put them below us with more performances like today. We've still got to play them up there and that result could determine which of the two of us stay up. Southampton had a reat resullt if not performance. They've got the easier fixtures out of us, them and Burnley - two of us will stay up and one go down after that Brighton win today - they also have a fairly "easy" run in.
Burnley into the chase with Southampton and Cardiff. Their last games are.. Leicester, Wolves, Cardiff, Man City & Arsenal at home. Liverpool, Bournemouth, Chelsea & Everton away. Their next 3 home games are all touch and go they could win them all but equally lose them all. I can't see them taking more than 1 or 2 points from the other 6 games.
Our last 3 losses are looking very costly. If we'd put out the team we did yesterday (ok, I know Niasse couldn't have faced Everton) would we have snuck a point or 4?
If we had started out and played that way against Everton, we would have had the same result as yesterday - a win and another 3 points on the board. Everton were/are a poor side lacking in confidence and we handed the game to them on a plate. Against the Hammers yesterday, Gunnar and Arter played far further forward that the Gunnar/Bacuna combo against Everton. They played so deep in that game that they virtually made the back 4 into a back 6. We invited them on, gave them the chances and they took 3 of them. Against West Ham we were a different proposition not allowing them any space to operate - really hope this lesson has been learned.
I’m in Liverpool on a weekend break - the city centre is flooded with all sorts of plastic Liverpool fans from all corners of the world
