Premier League scouts at the game, has to be our defence their watching.
I don't think there is anyone in the Chesterfield team who could reasonably aspire to playing Premiership soccer. Of ours:
Hamer: well, goalkeepers keep on improving into their late twenties, so one day maybe, but at present there must be thirty better prospects around.
Solly: we all love him, but I suspect Premiership scouts would be looking for a little more height
or a little more speed.
Taylor: too old to make that leap
Morrison: a possibility.
Wiggins: definite possibility.
Stephens: maybe better suited to higher levels than to Div One but only shining intermittently at this level at present.
Hollands: too slow for the Premiership.
Green: there are dozens like him languishing in Championship and Premiership reserve teams, so no.
BWP: has had his chance at higher levels and not impressed.
Kermorgant: a possibility, especially for a small budget club who need someone affordable to come in a do a job next season, and are not looking further ahead.
Jackson: not fit enough to enjoy an Indian Summer at that level.
