BBC London guys are salivating about our performance but making quite a lot of the fact that there were a number of scoiuts there tonight.

710 Addicks there and it sounded like 7000!

Great turn out on a Tuesday night, a long way from home - good for them. <ok>

Frankly with Rhodes not playing for Hudders... where did they expect the scouts to go tonight? Making a big deal about nothing, we were the best team on show this evening... and there's some good pubs around Chesterfield... if I was a scout that's where I'd have gone (the pub, that is...)

It is a scout's job to see as many games as possible - tonight we were the highest ranked team playing, so it's understandable that so many would come to see us.

We should probably tell them that this performance was a complete one-off, though, and that normally these players are rubbish. :bandit:

Back at the hotel. Walked back with a group of happy Addicks staying in the same Premier Inn.

What a great night! We must have had well over 500 in there tonight. Lovely ground - nice home fans - decent coffee - and my hotel just ten minutes walk away.

    Hamer 7
    Solly 8
    Morro 7
    Taylor 7
    Wiggins 8
Green 9 - Best game for us by a mile. Even got stuck in when tracking back.
    Stephens 7
    Hollands 7
    Jackson7
Kermit 7 - Clever performance - his drifting out to the right-wing allowed Green to waltz into the box and cause havoc.
BWP 10 - His movement, anticipation and teamwork were a joy to behold.

Cort and Haynes 7 - good cameos.
    Cort 2 - Oh, boy.

Not a great report, sorry. Time for Dimbleby and a bag of Revels.

    COYR!

I must say that if I was a scout from a higher league the only Charlton player I would recommend would be Leon Clarke! Morrow, Wiggins, Solly etc would not make it in the Championship <ok>

Clarke made chances, but did not score.

Weren't people praising BWP for that just earlier today?

Give the lad a proper chance. Yes he hasn't set the world alight, but there must be something in him that CP sees.

Comment from a Chesterfield fan that was at the game tonight...

''Charlton played quality football tonight, we was gutless. Worst game I've seen for a long time. Gutted.''

Yeah, must admit I've been kinda staring at the table for the last half an hour and I've begun to dribble. This is how to make up for four years of hurt!!!!<party>

If Clarke played for a lesser team, he would perhaps look like a handful and quite a dangerous player. But alongside the team we have now he looks utterly hopeless.

Maybe a rating of two is harsh as he did try hard, but compared to the likes of BWP, Green and Kermit, he is a dodo.

Just got home! What a turn round from the Tranmere match!

I'll just do some quick player ratings, should have a full match report up tomorrow!

Hamer 8 Didn't have a lot to do that was more than routine, but he didn't just hoof the ball to Kermo like he normally does
Solly 9 Quality made the first and the thirs and his all round play was fnatastic joint MotM
Morro 8 Imense, says a lot that Powell took him off with the points in the bag
Taylor 7 The less noticable of the pair, not less important
Wiggins 7 nearly back to his november best
Green 8 - Agree with Ponders was his best game for us in ages. Wasn't justa tackle, but a full blooded slidding one at that!
Stephens 7 Only gets a 7 not an 8 because he was far to deep in the first half, as his presents grow so did Charlton's attacking threat
Hollands 6 Just sort of OK, did nothing wrong, didn't set the world a light either
Jackson7 Great finish and makes the team so much better just by being there!
Kermit 9 My joint man of the match, I doubt there is a btter footballer in any 3rd flight in the world!
BWP 8 Great finish for the second, couldn't miss the first and didn't score his 3rd. Not bad though!!!

Cort 7 Defended like a demon despite being 4-0 up!
Haynes 6 didn't have time to inflence the game
Clarke 1 PEA was far to forgiving! A poor mans Jason Lee! Bring back Mooney!!!

Just watched the highlights - have to say, even though the Chesterfield defence looked very fragile, Chris Solly's approach work looked fabulous and BWP has certainly got his mojo back.

IMO, even though they're a different proposition entirely - on Saturday, Bournemouth are toast.
