Despite the obvious talent he's probably not suited to a relegation battle where need players to keep putting in a shift + the fact doesn't fit with latest formation means likely best for both parties if we can get back a reasonable fee & then re-invest wisely (not something we do particularly well).
I can't see that we will get much for him. He goes missing away from home and hasn't really cut the mustard for us. Premiership is too big a step for him. In all honesty, I can see him going back to Holland.
Think we paid somewhere around £2,5 million for him. If he stays in England we might make a small profit, but if he goes abroad or back to Holland we will most likely get less than what we paid in the first place. Hopefully he goes to one of the top sides in the Championship, Newcastle look happy to spunk large sums of money. If they could pay say £4 million then snatch their arm off!
I thought his performances under JFH were also poor and a major factor in our inability to win games or score much. He and Luongo as our creative options have simply not provided the attacking platform which we desperately need. The downside in losing our number 10 however is that we can expect IH to revert even more to the long ball game that he clearly still favours. Once Polter is fit again I'm going to buy a neck brace
You're probably right, but I'll settle for staying up by whatever means gets the results for the remainder of the season, with mid-table obscurity a welcome bonus. I'd be happy to judge Olly on what he does next season, which I'd hope would be more entertaining and expansive. Mind you, to retain the same manager for a full season would be novelty (twitchy-dodgy-kneecrap aside, of course)
A real step up for him......... please log in to view this image Aston Villa and Wolves make approach for wantaway QPR forward By Adam Allcroft on Jan 3, 2017 Aston Villa, Championship, Featured, News, Queens Park Rangers, Transfer Rumour, Transfers, Wolverhampton Wanderers Aston Villa and Wolves have made approaches for QPR’s Tjaronn Chery according to a report from Sky Sports via the Birmingham Mail. The 28-year-old forward has not played in the last few matches for QPR and appears to have fallen afoul of the new Ian Holloway regime, just 18 months after he signed for the club in the summer of 2015. Seemingly because of that, Chery has decided to hand in a transfer request and is looking to leave Loftus Road by the end of the January transfer window. And with Chery looking set to leave, it is no surprise to see Aston Villa interested in him as they have been longtime admirers of the former Gronigen player. They were first interested in him when Paul Lambert was their head coach and had even made a bid in 2015, though they were beaten to the signing by QPR. Now that he is available though, the West Midlands based club are now looking to finally make Chery a Villain after years of interest. But speaking of Lambert, he has also stayed interested in Chery and is looking to sign him for the club he is currently managing, Wolves. The Black County side have plenty of money to spend in the January transfer window and Lambert is hoping to start moulding the squad in his image after taking charge just a few months ago. But if he wants to sign Chery he looks set for a battle with his former team where he once tried to sign him before. please log in to view this image http://the72.co.uk/71058/aston-villa-and-wolves-make-approach-for-wantaway-qpr-forward/
This is some knob making something up for the sake of it, Kilburn. "Cheryl" hands in a transfer request and this pillock remembers that the Rs pipped Villa to his signature when Lambert was manager, so, hey presto, he can write an article linking him to two clubs with nothing other than his own imagination as a guide.
17:49 CHERY ON THE MOVE Sky sources understand a deal is being finalised which will see QPR’s Tjaronn Chery move to Chinese club Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng. We were told two days ago he wanted to leave Loftus Road and it is thought he will go for a fee of more than £4m.
Sky Sports saying it's over £4m. Good money I think and you can't blame him for taking the money. It would suggest the homesickness theory wasn't entirely accurate.
I see Chery basically goes where the money is. You could see that in his play; he played for himself and no one else. Was always trying to be the star man but wasn't good enough to be that independent of the team.
How old is he? Seems far too young to be moving to such a low standard of football. China may well explode in a similar way to the Premier League, but they're a way off that yet imo. If he goes there, he obviously enjoys money far more than football.
He's 28ish, would have maybe 4 or 5 years left at a reasonable standard, depends on his ambition.........there again what's his name? Oscar from the richer end of the borough has gone to China for a ridiculous sum of cash and he's only 26........maybe there's hope for old man Sandro to follow suit......

Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng have just been promoted to the Chinese Super League and will be looking to improve their squad as they hope to compete with a division that features high profile talent like Oscar, Carlos Tevez and Graziano Pelle. With that + some other freed up wages we are hopefully able to sign a good forward.
