Championship

I'm from Hull mate. Just out of interest Bing maps tells me that the distance from South Shields to Newcastle (centre point presumably) is 17.6 km whereas to Sunderland it is 18.1 km, not that good at maths but that appears closer to me. And she is quite aware, and proud, of the tag sand dancers :emoticon-0100-smile
I've just made a mental note to never rely on Bing Maps. South Shields to Sunderland is about 8 miles.

I'd go to watch my team*, I don't care who they play against. Could be Torkey or Tottenham, makes no difference to me.

*If I wasn't protesting, obvs.

Agreed. However a lot don't. And even the committed fans would think it odd they were paying more to watch their team against Wigan than Man Utd.

From memory the average adult ticket price for City fans in last season's Championship was £32. I think Ipswich was the highest.

Man City and .Chelsea came about because they took over other clubs and changed their name? When was that then?

I've got really confused here - I thought we were just talking about money, but since when were MK Dons flush with money?

I really don't know what I was thinking...<doh>

Fine, but I'm talking about the prices we actually paid last season - unaccountably I keep this information! For instance, we only paid a tenner or something for the MK Dons game.

Iam surprised If that's right but if it is then fair enough pal. South shields borders Sunderland so I thought it was closer.

If she is proud of the tag sand dancers then ok but tell her she's not a real geordie.

Anyway you looking forward to the championship? We are down so looking forward to the championship. Loads of close away days. Was the away tickets cheap when you was in the championship last season pal?
Ah, apparently Bing maps can't be trusted according to a fellow City fan so you're probably right!! Don't think I'll pass on the Geordie definition, helpful as it is - remember it's me who'll have to sit and listen to her explanation and life's too short for that.

I can see the appeal of the Prem given the quality of players/football that you see although I'm on a self-imposed ban from my season ticket due to ownership issues, apart from a couple of games when my brother comes up from darn sarf, so miss the live action. As for the Championship I rather like it, much more chance of seeing City score and win, generally more excitement, and always the chance that we'll get to the play-off final which is a good day out too. No problem being a yoyo team in that respect. Probably get **** from some on here for not being 'committed' enough but relegation - especially given our current unhappy situation wouldn't be a disaster for me. Apart from that we can look forward to our customary 6 points from your lads again :emoticon-0105-wink:, and as you indicate, more (relatively) local derbies to look forward to.

Have now checked and I was wrong earlier, the average price paid last season for an adult away ticket against City was £26.04. Only four games were charged at above £30 - Leeds, QPR, Ipswich and Middlesbrough.
