Sounds like one of those back street neighbourhood boozers which half cut on a pub crawl seems a good idea to go into, then after a drink hastily leave.

Next time you come in give me a wave - I'm the bloke sitting in the corner of the bar in ' my seat ' drinking out of my personal glass.

has Beefy left as well? that's a shame if true. his NCFC passion is certainly too the extreme, but it's very colourful and he will be missed

Can see this pub right now probably has one of those Websters bitter signs from circa 1991 up on the wall outside.

Now, I have no idea whether Wonky was Carla, but he seems to be a nice guy when I speak to him on twitter. Same with Beefy, minus the Carla part. We've actually established a bit of a twitter clique, ganging up on doom-mongers!

I'm glad to see Supers back to be honest - I enjoy how deeply he thinks about things!

i don't know i'm afraid. i'm going by what was said on the bbc breakfast news this morning. having worked in that area before it is a highly congested area but the response time is not good. this may have been an attack on a sole person but it doesn't bare thinking about the potential for murder on a mass scale

Don't wish to reopen this particular can of worms but yes, standard officers were in attendance before firearms officers. They appear to have been advised not to engage - there were at least two knives and a revolver in play. It also seems that one of the perps tried to fire the revolver and blew off his own finger.

Ballad of JWM -apologies to Billy Joel

It's three o'clock on a Saturday,the regular crowd shuffles ,

There's an old man sitting next to me,making love to his tonic and gin.

He says "Son can you sing me a memory,I'm not really sure how it goes,

But it's sad and it's sweet and I knew it complete,when I wore a younger man's clothes.

Now John at the bar is a friend of mine, and he dreams of those days long gone by,

When his team all in blue wouldn't lose nine to two,the top league wasn't pie in the sky

He said "Boy's I believe this is killing me",as the smile ran away from his face,

"I am sure that my dream of a great football team, would come true if I could only get out of this place"
