Funny how that happened a month after the Allams took over. But yeah Pearsons fault, I'm sure Assem let AP tell him how to run his business.

So you agree we treat Dawson very well?? Good.

Nigel Pearson made it absolutely clear he wanted Ash out. Ask Ash he detests Pearson.

Yep no doubt NP had an issue with Ash. I'm somewhere in the middle on him.

Dawson was treated like ****. It's one of those Allam things that hardly anyone knows about but I don't get why. He was promised a new deal and didn't get it for months, turned down other clubs to stay here. When SB came in he insisted straight away that we sort Dawsons contract out. He then lost money on his own testimonial by being retrospectively charged way over the odds by the club for costs of hosting the testimonial match.

Yeah that'll be why his brother turned us down.

Oh wait.

Interesting you're in the middle on Ash v AP. I might not revere Barmby the way some do, but Ash despite not being Hullborn, was 100% always ours and a real legend.

It's cos he's been here 7 years and made big changes to his game in order to fit in here. He's our longest serving player and has been up and down with us. I want him to stay and succeed for the same irrational reason I want Bruce to stay while the team he built is massively failing; its just loyalty for people who've done well with us.

It's considered taboo to be anti Bruce and I agree with that, but why aren't players afforded the same treatment? I don't understand how people can enjoy supporting City with this soulless, all about money attitude towards it. For me it's about the people. I'd rather keep Bruce and go down than stay up with Pulis for example. It's about a club I can enjoy supporting and relate to. I feel like if Ashbee was playing now we'd **** him off too.

Oh and remind me what Barmby said which was slating his employer?

I don't get what the length of time he has been has to do with it, he is hardly a legend at the club. Ashbee, Barmby and Dawson i get but Macca has had very little impact on the club in his time here in my eyes. He isn't good enough for us long term and he shouldn't be playing week in week out ahead of Dawson, Chester and Davies if he doesn't like that he can leave. If he is happy to wait here and wait for his turn i am more than happy to keep but we shouldn't put him in the team to our detriment. Loyalty is an important part of football but if been loyal means having a negative impact on putting the Best XI out forget been loyal.

In order to be balanced, I don't think he covered himself in glory over the way he left, nor in the ill-advised friendship with Bullard.

To be honest, it's all water under the bridge and I'd rather just remember the great things Ashbee did for us.

Thats because we didnt have a manager you plank. The Allams let the manager decide if he wanted him. So you agree he received 15 grand a week to twiddle his thumbs for the full season as he was clearly not good enough to get in the team. e then turns down the offer of a role on the coaching staff to make more money for himself at Scunthorpe.

Ye werent we mean to him.

Macca will be a Burnleh player at 30 seconds past midnight on January 1st. My one hope is we manage to work as good a con for him as we did for Boydie!!

I don't think the agent will have to cancel his new year celebrations that dramatically.
It's not like there will be a massive queue of suitors for McShane, or that he would even get a starting place in their 11.

I didn't say that at all. My whole point here is that I wish we honoured our iconic players better.

And it's rich coming from you, cos we all know if Allam told you not to like Ashbee you'd quickly comply in the same way you did with Barmby.

And there it is, you'll happily turn on another legend if it means defending Allam.

Barmby wanted to give him the contract, and Chester too at the time in fact, but they didn't trust him to decide on players, so it didn't happen until Bruce came in and made it a priority.

I've no idea what wage he was on in his last season. It's irrelevant. Whatever it was was approved by Bruce though.

It's all been said before, but it's sad seeing Macca forced out. He's a proper City player. Who next, Rosenior? Chester? Too much is changing at City and there's no obvious benefit.

Bruce was playing Ki onside three yards behind everyone else for their goal yesterday.

It wouldn't have changed the outcome. The goal would still have stood.

Eh? It was deflected by Ki who would have been offside if Bruce wasn't playing him on, on his own. If he was in a good position either Ki would have been offside or would have been somewhere else. It's the kind of thing that if Robertson did it everyone would be going on about him lacking defensive discipline.

McShane has turned out to be a better defender, the errors have been for the most part omitted, and I think SB coaching has help with this.

McGuire did OK when he came on, I would give him a go if both Davies and Bruce are out.

Yeah **** McShane, just like we ****ed Barmby, Pearson, Dawson, etc. The way we treat loyal people at this club is ****.
Very true, and it goes back longer than that too, it's been the same since I started supporting the club in the early 80's.

Did you not notice how incompetent the linesman was? He didn't know his arse from his elbow let alone an offside. The goal would obviously have stood, but simply consigned to another hard luck Hull story.
