Having watched Bruce junior hobble down the tunnel on 80 minutes and Davies looking unlikely to be fit for our next game, do we ask Maguire to step up? He looked ok if a little clumsy yesterday ( what size are his feet ??!!) - Figgy back ( hope not) or - dare I say - the return of the invincible Macca to the fold???

Give Maguire some game time, he needs to play and develop.

We can't mollycoddle Maguire too much - this isn't a teenager, it's a man approaching 22 with over 160 games under his belt (albeit at a lower level). He's had six months to improve his fitness and train with Premier League players (or at least they're meant to be), and he should be itching for a chance to step in.

I agree. I think he looks a very decent prospect. Didn't look at all overawed yesterday... as for him being "clumsy".... someone must've been watching a different game to me. I thought he was very assured. Seems absurd that he was even sent out on loan, to me.

Has Paul McShane somehow morphed into something he's not been for the last 5 years over the last couple of weeks???

Macca is another Billy Whitehurst, a Gary Brabin. He's a fans player; hard working, wear your heart on your sleeve, tough, man's man type, that never gives less than 120% even though ability wise he's somewhere near 70% of what is standard in this division.

In a winning side with plenty of ability around him, he has a definite role to play in a squad.

In a currently struggling team he is NOT going to be the knight in shining armour that come riding over the hill to sort all out all our defensive woes...........he ain't got it in him!!!!

Before Steve Bruce arrived at the KC, I was not sure about him. I thought he was a bit of a chancer who regarded clubs as simply stepping stones on the path of his own career development. Since he joined I have come to realise what a completely decent bloke he is. He always says the right thing, he always is measured and fair and above all he is (sometimes painfully) honest. Now unless he's pulling one of the best conn acts in the history of football, he will be the same when he's not in front of the camera.

Macca is a hot-head. Surely anyone who has watched him play will have to admit that. If Steve Bruce has consigned him to the u-21s it will be because he has done something serious to challenge the authority of Steve Bruce, something like going toe to toe with him in front of the other players.

Now none of us are privy to what is going on behind the scenes, but I am certain that Bruce will have weighed up the the costs and benefits of such action. On the one hand he may need to re- introduce Macca into the fold, but on the other he cannot allow his authority to be challenged otherwise chaos reigns.

    You are so wrong.

He's a lying prick who advocates cheating and play acting.

It's all been said before, but it's sad seeing Macca forced out. He's a proper City player. Who next, Rosenior? Chester? Too much is changing at City and there's no obvious benefit.

Bruce was playing Ki onside three yards behind everyone else for their goal yesterday.

Thats completely wrong. He isnt being forced out at all. He chose to go too far with the manager. As i showed on the other thread. Nowt to do with Bruce Jr he was dropped in favour of Dawson. Something everyone with half a brain would do.

Steve Bruce rescued Mcshane's career lets not forget that and this is how Mcshane repays him?? Making snide tweets. **** you very much Paul.

McShane is going to get better every game he doesnt play for us now.

Honestly fellas, he's enjoyed a much better profile and income than he woulda anywhere else. He's deffo ridden his luck for too long.

Is this cos you bought one of those s**t Mcshane jumpers??

Dawson FFS we gave him a year contract on 15 grand a week for him to do f** all all year. We also offered him a job on the coaching staff, which he turned down.

Pearson stabbed us in the back.

Barmby slated his employer, only one result.

Yes let's all blame Alex Bruce for Swansea's goal yesterday, clearly it was completely his fault that Shelvey miss hit his shot which luckily hit Ki and deflected past mcgregor giving him no chance. Sometimes I despair I really do.

It's cos he's been here 7 years and made big changes to his game in order to fit in here. He's our longest serving player and has been up and down with us. I want him to stay and succeed for the same irrational reason I want Bruce to stay while the team he built is massively failing; its just loyalty for people who've done well with us.

It's considered taboo to be anti Bruce and I agree with that, but why aren't players afforded the same treatment? I don't understand how people can enjoy supporting City with this soulless, all about money attitude towards it. For me it's about the people. I'd rather keep Bruce and go down than stay up with Pulis for example. It's about a club I can enjoy supporting and relate to. I feel like if Ashbee was playing now we'd **** him off too.

Oh and remind me what Barmby said which was slating his employer?

Erm yeah it was his fault that Ki was onside. Entirely his fault. He was completely out of line. Have you seen the replay?!

We do not have a CB crisis.

It's the strongest position in our squad.

We do have a creative/attacking midfield and set pieces crisis.

Whether you like Alex Bruce or not, and I do, he was a yard behind the rest of the defence and played him onside. If Macca had been playing he could equally have made a mistake to cost a goal. If Meyler or Livermore had tracked Ki instead of watching him make the forward run, or had either of them challenged Shelvey, the goal might not have happened. We still had lots of time to recover, unfortunately heads dropped and we got progressively worse.

We do if any two out of the main three are unavailable. Whatever people's views of McShane, Bruce or Maguire, the cold hard fact is they're nowhere near as good as Chester, Dawson or Davies.

We did **** Ash off. Both the Pearsons did it. That was a shameful episode. I'm sure you backed them over it or did you say it was wrong?

Funny how that happened a month after the Allams took over. But yeah Pearsons fault, I'm sure Assem let AP tell him how to run his business.
