Strictly speaking, didn't they conditionally lease it to the SMC. I don't think Hull City were involved were they?
No they leased it to the SMC on the condition that it be used as a sports hall for the use of the community. If the SMC breach the lease by renting it for the exclusive use of Hull City they can take it back, 50 years or no 50 years. The question is have they got the balls. Up to now they have but we'll see what happens when they get to court.
I really do hope you are just another harmless wum, but then I remember there are many scum in the World and you might just be one of them. I genuinely do hope you are just another troll, but that begs the question, doesn't it affect your self esteem? When you go to bed at night, don't you ever look inside and think, hey I'm an Internet wum. This is how I've turned out? And then feel just a little bit sad and lonely?
It's funny how you equate individuals who have a different point of view to yourself as a wum. Furthermore, you then equate people who have a different view to you as scum. How very odd. Welcome to my ignore list.
How is it relevant to what? To the Airco? A bit I would say. I was just curious, and judging by the lack of response to the question, can I assume that all those clubs are actually fine and it wasn't the apocalyptic scenario it was painted as?
Good news about the status, but particularly the 12 months grace I sincerely hope the club get ripped up in court and have to leave Airco, and pay to have it put back as it was They can start a years planning now ready to go somewhere else, maybe even at Bishop Burton.
It wasn't the end of the world, no. I have no idea what damage its done to the clubs that found somewhere else, whether they lost members, lost revenue, had to pay increased rents, etc. What cannot be denied is that Assem and Ehab Allam did what was morally right for them and evicted hundreds of amateur sports men, women and children to get their hands on half a million or so from the Premier League just because they don't like the Council. Brady showed that an alternative was available and they turned it down. Tells me everything I want to know about the type of people they are. The Allams may have sold us or they may start talking to the Council. If they haven't and the Council hold their nerve we'll see where we are in 12 months when another audit is due.
Why couldn't the council welcome Hull City AFC in wanting to invest in the Airco Arena and bringing Catergory 2 Academy status to Hull? Is not football a community sport? The clubs using the Airco were doing so because it was cheap, not that it was the best venue for them. The Arena ran at a loss, which the SMC had to make up, and the SMC are basically the Allams. Do the council and the ratepayers of Hull prefer another loss making council facility ? If it had been any other business ( rugby league perhaps?) wanting to invest in a loss making council facility, which the Airco Arena was, and provide top class training facilities for Hull youngsters and provided many jobs in the process, the councillors would have been jumping up and down waving flags and climbing over each other to claim the credit. When it came down to it the only real objection from all the groups using the Airco came from the trampoline class and had one member who jumped higher then other venues offered to them. This happened in one tournament, once a year. If any of your sons/grandsons were involved with Hull City's Academy would you still be throwing these hissy fits?
Yep. No squealing on here about the council pulling funding on Sirius and letting a private company kick the kids out. The Allams/SMc have given a free ride for too long to those clubs.
"tubbylard, post: 8156607, member: 1022928" Why couldn't the council welcome Hull City AFC in wanting to invest in the Airco Arena and bringing Catergory 2 Academy status to Hull? They did, they offered an alternative on the hockey pitches. Is not football a community sport? If you mean the exclusive community of HCAFC & their employees then yes it's a community sport. Unfortunately the community of Hull own the complex & that's the community who it was built to serve. The same community AA referred to when he said "I want to take young people off the streets and let them put their energies into sport.” & this "I want to see our younger generation only go home to eat and sleep, rather than hanging around on street corners." The clubs using the Airco were doing so because it was cheap, not that it was the best venue for them. Please post your evidence or stop spouting ****. The Arena ran at a loss, which the SMC had to make up, and the SMC are basically the Allams. Surely a business man with the acumen of AA should be running it at a profit. He saw the books before he signed the papers. Do the council and the ratepayers of Hull prefer another loss making council facility ? Probably not, but how does turning it into an exclusive use facility for HCAFC & their employees make it a profitable facility for the ratepayers? If it had been any other business ( rugby league perhaps?) wanting to invest in a loss making council facility, which the Airco Arena was, and provide top class training facilities for Hull youngsters and provided many jobs in the process, the councillors would have been jumping up and down waving flags and climbing over each other to claim the credit. Are you a total ******? Don't answer, you are. The Allams (****s, just for Kemps) are not providing a top class training facility for Hull youngsters. They are denying Hull youngsters the opportunity to use a top class facility so their employees from different areas to Hull can have exclusive use of the Council owned facility. People have lost their jobs because Allam's (****s - Kemps) petulance. When it came down to it the only real objection from all the groups using the Airco came from the trampoline class and had one member who jumped higher then other venues offered to them. This happened in one tournament, once a year. Please post your evidence or stop spouting ****. If any of your sons/grandsons were involved with Hull City's Academy would you still be throwing these hissy fits? Yes, but others, like me, wouldn't be from Hull so wouldn't give a ****. I think I forgot to mention, you're a ****.
It's not as if these people climbed (or trampolined) in the night before and were squatting. They came as a part of the deal. Irrespective of that, it could certainly all have been handled with far more skill and feeling for the local community. It is a community stadium after all.
