Welcome news that Chester could be possibly ready. I will go for a 1-1, but a win would see us almost clear. Expect both teams to score.
Don't want to go too far down the road with this one - rather talk about football to be honest, but being the question's been asked, the spin put on this by the media was heavily biased. There are no suggestions of "till fingers" (officially anyway) by either Malky nor his head of recruitment Ian Moody, but the same level of gross mismanagement of Tan's funds would have been more than enough to dismiss anyone in similar positions in industry - a football manager is no different. Before the facts started to drift out, the media latched on to poor old Malky playing the sympathy card and portrayed him as the victim and Tan as some sort of anti-Christ. The infamous email that Tan sent to Malky was leaked (now believd to have been by Malky) to enhance the issue in the press and further the impression being cultivated. The image being portrayed of Malky as the perennial victim was far from the truth - he ****ed up and paid the price no question. There's a catalogue of errors we could go into, but the stellar achievement must be the signing of Cornelius for £8M and £45K a week for 5 years, which with obscene agent's fees made a total comittment of £20M. The one year wonder in a poor league was sold back to Copenhagen 6 months later for £3M and an agreement over his wage contract - it cost the club £8.5M net. The fact is the Malky and his HoR Moody wasted over £12M up front of Tan's money up front with some disastrous decision making. The "Murky" mutation of his name refers to his manipulation of the media and is nothing to do with any alleged personal gains by him or Moody. There has been no public suggestion of that that I am aware and no evidence to support the rumblings. One significant factor may be the outright refusal of Tan to pay up the rest of Malky's contract as he would have to do if he dismissed him for no reason other than choice. You would think Malky would challenge that through the courts - after all, he had a contract. The silence is deafening.
Cheers for that sparkey, think a few on here were questioning Saint Murky at the time. As you say it cant be proved about financial gain but why would anyone pay all that for Cornelius?? Does this mean Tan goes up in fans estimation or is he still a ****?
Who's your painter & decorated now the Kazakh went home Sparkey? Or did OGS bring his own from Norway? You lot seem happy to stick your fingers in your ears, close your eyes and shout 'lalalalala' to ignore Tan's evident twattery. I don't understand why, after how he embarrasses yous owwer an owwer, yours keep clutching at any reason not to despise him. No doubt Mackay deserved the sack but Tan turned the whole episode into a pantomime drama.
B I'm getting déjà vu here. Cornelius sounds like your Jimmy Bullard. Even down to the figure quoted for wages.
I could be wrong, but I get the impression that Sparkey is saying it was the media, fed by Mackay that turned it into a pantomime. I suspect that, like us, they'll have some fans that would eat **** with no sugar as long as they're a Premier League side.
That's your take on it so fair enough - you just follow the media circus. The "pantomime" was instigated by Tan's mad as a box of frogs actions since his arrival. His footballing knowledge was zilch and he's demonstrated with some of his stupid stuff. That doesn't make him a clown in business terms. Whatever Tan's "twattery", it doesn't make Malky the Pope. Putting your fingers in your ears and not listening to the media is actually sound advice. There is very little they wont print to sell and promote a story. The painter and decorator stuff is typical of your following of the tripe. He was no more placed in charge of spending Tan's money than I was - surely you don't believe that pal. It was a farcical appointment as a slap to Moody and particularly Malky as to their performance in that role themselves. Get a grip mate and stop reading the tabloids.
Chazz - in answer to your question, the vast majority of the fans still think he's a twat for changing the club colours no question, but there is an increasing element that believe that apart from that, and the fact that he appears to adopt a Jesus mentality on times, he has brought a lot to the table and deserves some backing.
I don't read tabloids at all. I don't even watch sky sports news and very rarely match of the day. When I want to find something out I look on fans forums to get a proper take. At the end of the day Tan is a **** no matter how you dress it up, you lot bend yourselves over backwards finding reasons to ignore his twattery so you can jump on his plastic premier league red dragon bandwagon and pretend all is rosey. Like I said Mackay and Moody pissed money away on Cornelius, maybe deserved the sacking for that but I think I'm right in saying your other signings have been success stories more often than not, albeit slightly expensive ones? Now you're lot are making out Mackay has been some kind of sly bastard because he didn't come out in the media and say "I spent to much on Cornelius, I deserve the sack" really who would do that? Murky Mackay, classy. About as classy as Tan appointing a painter and decorator as head of development just to say **** you to the manager he was employing. Don't you just find that embarrassing and childish? I'd say you need to get your head out the sand and use your eyes to see Vincent Tan has made a laughing stock out of your once proud club. Get a grip mate and stop being a doormat.
I know nowt about him, is he honest in business or dodgy sparky? Our media love an easy target and he presents that i suppose.
Mr. Hat - you have your opinions and they appear to be strongly held, but the fact is you know **** all about our club. We've heard the same sanctimonious claptrap you're putting out a thousand times from the holier than thou fraternity. Chazz - he's a big fish in Malaysia with a lot of influence. He even got the Malaysian tourist board to stump up an alleged £15M for the sponsorship of the club on our shirts and elsewhere - that is good business practice. Don't believe he's "dodgy", just a successful businessman who's well connected. I'd have preferred to talk about football on this thread - that was the purpose, but this is being turned into another dissitatation on club ownership by some. As for the game, In think it's more important for us than you to be honest. We simply have to win this home game against you or the slide may become hard to stop - a win will mean a lot and you can bet OGS will go for it. A point is no good to us.
Point out the facts I don't know Sparkey, go on. The fact is you willingly sold your souls for the premier league, why don't you just admit it. Plastics Edit: unless you're the Cardiff equivalent of Happy Tiger, which actually seems most plausible, in whichever case I apologise to all fans of Cardiff City for labelling you as plastics, excluding the likewise equivalents of .... , Craig in Nottingham, TigerFILEY and the other one or two who brown nose Allam and see no evil.
Don't mind hat he's just on a wind up. Glad medels out. Looks a good player. Why is ogs playing fabio at RB. Thought your RB against us in the first game was excellent, dodgy name I can't remember. Nullified Brady, when he actually was playing well, did a real job on him.
Yup Chazz - KTC had a good debut against you up there. He can be exciting going forward but has been caught out a few times. Having said that, Fabio has been worse in many's opinion. He is no fullback in a million years - far better IMO playing him right side midfield because he does have some pace and likes to get forward. Not sure why OGS bought him except that he knew him from his years at Man U and the fact that he was cheap being out of contract this summer. I'd like to see KTC or even Macnaughton at RB. If KTC can do the same job on Brady again, I'd be well pleased.
Nice to see fans getting behind their owner, and ignoring the media hype and bollocks. Was pleased you came up with us tbh, and I was hoping you'd stay up. I think this will be another one of those games where with both sides desperate to not lose, could end up either just cancelling each other out, an edgy game with a 1 goal winning it, or one side running rampant. I think I covered all bases there too lol. I just genuinely do not know how to call this one, its a massive game for us both. I just hope Campbell doesn't score. Mostly cos it will create a furore on here regarding his celebration. Thanks for putting up with some ****ing stupid questions on here Sparkey, the majority will not mind if you just ignore them fella.
