Perch on way back too. Completed 90 minutes in the U23 game Monday which we won 5-1.

Perch has no right to go straight back into the team - he wasn't the first name on the team sheet before he was injured - if he features at all it must be from the bench.

Now that the annual waste of the first Saturday of January has passed us, we return to the important matter of the trip to Burton.

I will be making one of my infrequent away trips & would ask the veterans of past visits for advice on street parking & which pub to quench my thirst in.

At present I'm favouring the Burton Bridge Inn (trad bitter a must) which is about a 30 minute walk to the ground & hopefully the car can be parked in the estate (Sydney Street) between the town centre & the ground.

All advice will be greatly received.

Thanks

Great little back street boozer near the station is the Old Cottage Tavern. Proper old school pub which serves excellent ale from the brewery of the same name. Try the Stout, it’s luverly.

I remember seeing Burton back in 1970 in the Southern League Premier Division. My Brother-in-Law played for Crawley Town in the same division, that season both teams were relegated and now they're both established EFL teams. Shows any team can make it with the right backing and management...
