A lot of premier players are out of contract we could give them a signing on fee and sell them at the end of the season.

Nice idea.
Not sure the maths stacks up though.
£50k a week is £2.5M.
To be able to sell them you'd need to give them 2+ year contracts.
The chances are that any that a premier league team would want would be snapped up before we got a look in.
Get lumbered with a couple and 6pts deduction through breaking FFP rules.
We've only just ditched a load of, by our standards, big earners.
Jesse Lindegard anyone?

I wonder how factual this is?
Some interesting names.
And if its to be believed, it shows how badly wrong the bookies got it.
Or rather, how right they got it. As Sparkey said, they'll have made a fortune.

It's by Abbandonato who I think has an inside line at City, doesn't overly speculate and doesn't get much wrong - he leaves all of that to Glen.

In light of the few rumours and club silence in recent days he is probably pretty much right although the exclusion of the Portuguese guy is a surprise as he shot up the betting list.

Just saw Caulker, who worked with Bulut in Turkey, bigging him up on BBC Wales News.

Anyone following the press conference???

If ever there was a huge hint to VT about bringing in a football person / DoF rather than Dalman this must surely be it? He's basically said it's all VT's fault and he'd pretty much given up on his role until we appointed Erol... WTF????

10 years at Cardiff, how do you assess that period?
Probably a 5 or 6/10. This is a privately-held company with one shareholder. We have a board, in a single ownership, it’s difficult. I’ve done it before. You can only recommend and execute.

Everything else in the middle is not the board’s decision. How well have I judged myself recommending, probably more than five or six, what about executing that recommendation? Well, that last 18 months I sort of gave up. Now this is a new incentive for me. I have a consistent team here and Ken and I work very well, within the remit of our owner. I am re-engaging myself because this man (Erol) is here.

Wow. How to get yourself sacked.
Maybe he's after a payoff.

Erol came across OK.
