Hi, in case anyone is cash strapped at Christmas here is my festive gift to you fellow HCAFC not606ers. I use Bulb as my energy supplier and because I've been with them a year they've given me a referral link that means you save £100 off your energy bills (£100 of credit) after you sign up via the link. I equally receive £100 as well for transparency, but I thought you might as well save a bit of money if you could.

As a bonus you get to save the planet in your tiny own way as they use renewable energy where possible. So you'd also be supporting the Siemen's wind turbine production plant very loosely too.

All I want for Christmas is for the Allams to leave, ho, ho, ho etc.

I use SO Energy which is 100% renewable. Can't complain with their service or price.
 
It's very easy to change suppliers. There's absolutely no difference to your supply when you switch, so it makes sense to go with whoever is cheapest in your area. The question really is whether this £100 credit makes it effectively the cheapest for you.

Are you in the white pages as Mr C Rheinhold? Can we get this thread longer than the new owners one? Yeah it’s very simple, I was previously with British Gas on a fixed tariff as we’d moved into a new flat. Paid through the roof last winter, been with bulb since and pay less. But it’s worth doing the quote with them to compare.
 
I'm with Bulb, they send you an email before issuing each bill, to give you a chance to send them meter readings so your account is always up to date.

Unfortunately, they then ignore what you tell them and simply bill your monthly amount, whatever you actually owe.

They took £245 off me, despite knowing I didn't owe anything and was already £500 in credit.

Apparently, this was my fault, as I need to go into my account and change my monthly payments, as they can't change what you're charged, even if they know you don't owe it. A rather odd system, though they were fairly helpful when I pointed it out and they did skip one months payment.

How quaint.

Havent had to send in a meter reading for 2 years.

My bill is always spot on.

Never pay any more than I need to.
 
Cheapest electric supplier I've found is Pure Planet. Price goes up and down with wholesale prices and they reckon it's all green energy. It isn't because you can't pick and choose which electrons come off the grid but it's nice that they're trying. You need a smartphone or a smartphone emulator and you submit a monthly meter reading and get a pretty usage graph in return. Direct Debit only but they do take less in summer so you don't end up massively in credit. I can't offer anybody £100 but I can slip you a £25 Amazon voucher.

I'm reliabed informed that their electric isn't much good.

Isn't up to much.

It's poor quality, a bit weak and insipid apparantely.


Low grade.

Second rate.

It hasn't got the full quota of Ohms or summat.



It might be so called green and so called reknewable but let's just say that that requires an awful lot of hamsters and an awful lot of wheels.


And they don't get many breaks.

Or fed.


Is all I'm saying.

SSE did similar to me, rejected my gas meter readings as they weee too low below what they thought I’d use, in my first year in the house. Then they sent a meter reader man round to have a look, and it was like getting a boners from work.

Electricity, its a hair brained idea and it will never catch on....
 
It said on t’radio t’other day that once you change suppliers and you have a smart meter that it instantly becomes a dumb meter and is no longer effective.

So, not so ****ing smart after all.
