I actually think brum are getting a good deal. I dont know much about this davies lad, a player is only worth what someone us willing to pay and where are all these other clubs that are after him, Im assuming they dont want to pay more than us for him. If you can get a player of hobbs calibre for a season at that price then they should grab it.

Villa were willing to pay about £10m for him, on that basis, he's now a bargain.
 
Considering the number of players we'll be signing on our limited budget, and that strikers should be a priority, I wouldn't want us to be paying much more for a Championship defender.

But he's only a Championship defender cos no Premier League club has signed him yet. Using that logic Alex Bruce, a Premier League defender, is worth more than Davies.

I know, but it's not like his team have been impossible to score against in that league is it? Chester and Hobbs might not be as famous as him, but they keep goals out of our net and Davies doesn't. I know it isn't just down to him, but he plays a big part. Like any signing, I'll reserve judgement until he plays for us, but I wouldn't want to pay loads for him.
 
Half of them seem to be arguing that we're in the wrong for allowing Birmingham to accept such a low offer <doh>
 
I kinda feel sorry for teams that have foreign owners.
OK we have DR AA and he is Egyptian, but he has made his money over here.
He has ties to this town after being here 40 odd years.
Brummies are owned by China, LESSta are owned by Lady Boys.. I'm sure that these far eastern owners will want their money back soon, in LESStas case they are gonna be saddled with a 5m (I think it was) interest bill every year - not a bad investment if you can afford it.

You are right to a point, but in the EPL defenders have to do more that just stop the other side scoring, they need to distribute the ball from the back in a constructive way. From what I have seen Curtis, as hopefully Chester will prove in the EPL, they not only defend.
 
If the Davies deal comes off, I'm really impressed so far with our end of season captures to date (not including Boyd as we knew about his deal anyway) Figueroa, Davies and a contract extension for Chester = great business. Looking forward to the remaining signings that Bruce has lined up.

Figueroa looks class, he was identified by quite a few pundits as one of the best free signings.

Agreed. The windows not even open yet and we're already in better shape.

I think you'll find the Allams are only making these sort of signings to stay in the premier league Glennon!! They're up to summat i tell ya. Not figured out what yet but i dont trust em one bit.....................

What they're going to do is organise a fixture in China, offer to pay for fans travel, when we get there they are going to have us caged into the stadium and make us slaves. They will tell us if we don't work out hardest they will rebrand the club as Leeds White Tigers and let it slowly deteriorate into a state of non existence. There's more but this is all I can say, big brother is watching and mi6 will be knocking in the door. I will be in touch anonymously.
 
The Allams are going to ensure we survive in the premiership then sell out to the "Ladyboys" who will use Leicester as a feeder club for the Tigers and with huge Brand development in S.E.Asia there will be enough funds to Challenge into Europe and the Champions League and eventually takeover world dominance with the complete Tigers team and subs representing England.
How's that for blowing your socks off?
