I must admit I like a bit of Plato and Confucius. Two sayings that stick out for me. 'Only the dead have seen the end of war.' 'When setting out on a journey of revenge, one must remember to dig two graves.'
One thing that struck me the most was in Plato's 'The Cave'. He says that we are just people in a cave, and life is a series of projections on the wall. The puppets making these projections are behind us, and the light is behind them. In order to see the world as it really is, we must find our way out of the cave. But he also said that if someone were to come into the cave from the light to rescue us, we'd try to kill them. The guy basically predicted Jesus.
I just hope the new manager will make the new team plato it's strengths, that way we kant lose. We're no run of the Mill team, anyone who misjudges us will be Machiavelli sorry!
I haven't really read any other original texts; I tried to read Kant's 'The Metaphysical Element' for AS revision, but couldn't get past the first page!
