A director of football is responsible for the footballing philosophy of the club from academy to first team. It is this role that chooses the manager. By all accounts we're going with this route. So the DOF will be responsible for the hiring/firing of managers, coaches, medical staff, sports scientists, scouts etc.
It's not like Amanda is going to rock up in a pair of boots tomorrow morning and take training.

Personally not a fan of DoF's so I wouldn't waste time or money on them, to many cooks etc... I couldn't argue with the guy from Leipzig tbh as he has a proven record of improving clubs and not just the first team but the club from top to toe - BUT how many other have you seen that have done that for a club - look at a legend of ours like Sir Les at QPR - I'm sure he's doing good stuff but it hasn't exactly transformed QPR and made them a force to be reckoned with in the championship. I couldn't name you on DoF (including Leipzig man) who I'd wait to sack Bruce for.

I'm still 100% sack Bruce yesterday - get caretakers in charge, give it to KK and Shearer, Caldwell and Jones, Harper and Ameobi - none of these could do a worse job than Bruce has done.

After seeing that I'm lumping on Newcastle to win this weekend. Wouldn't even be surprised if Joelinton scored a hattrick.

As I said on here before, those players will be playing as if they're in Squid Game.
