anything to do with the chairman resigning recently?? I know they have lost games but their league position is OK.

news bite says thats its due to Only one win in the last 11 league games and out of all 3 cup comps. knee jerk or what ? my thoughts are that Peter Ridsdale could not wait to bin him. PNE another club who have lots to worry about.

I think its pretty telling that people want Horton back as a coach but nobody here has yet suggested Brownie returns in some capacity. Wonder where he will end up next?

Horton in as assistant now?

gets my vote and been my wish since NB got the job. he would be just what NB needs. imo, brian horton was the main reason why city did so well in a)getting FC and 2)promotion to the PL.

brian horton never got the plaudits he deserved at city. it was always brown this and brown that.

i wonder if city knew of this pending change @ PNE and why the position is still vacant ? maybe not for much longer then eh ?

But Steve Wigley is our new assistant manager. he only came on board a couple of weeks ago.
Maybe we'll bring Browny back to advise Nick? they always got along quite well.

Ridsdale. Brown has been so unlucky with inept chairmen it's unreal.

Ah well, at least we won't have to pay compensation for him now, all together...

BROWNIE'S COMING HOME.

Well I totally forget about it, cos I really don't remember Brown taking us down.

Criticise him for what he did, and there's a lot to criticise, but let's not change history eh? There were plenty of games left and we were in touch when Brown was sacked.

A pity, he got them top of the league after 9 games this term; Ridsdale is usually brought in because of his "experience" with money troubled clubs, and he should be the expert, so let's hope he can save the club. They need a buyer quick by all accounts and this seems to clear the decks.

Brown is always lumped together with Bartlett/Duffen by some, though I don't attach all the popular blame such as "THEN HE TAKES US DOWN WITH THE BIGGEST FINANCIAL BURDEN IN OUR HISTORY" type thing. It was Dowie who took us down and Bartlett/Duffen who held all the financial cards and information. Brown blame for a lot of things but not for the financial bit.

Lets not start this again

Well what I said was FACT. I'm not a Brown sympathiser by any means - in my eyes he was amazing, then he forgot just why he was amazing and instead thought he literally was Midas. As a result he then became 5hite.

All this is no reason to change actual, indisputable history.

People have to stop kidding themselves.. Browny was lucky to get us promoted and even more luckier to keep us up that 1st prem season. he's an average tactician and a piss poor man-manager.

As well thought of as Brian Horton is I just believe that we should take a step back. Nick is his own man and can get is own team together.

Phil Brown was responsible for some of the worst signings in PL history. Has any other club spent so much on complete rubbish in the PL ? I would love to know if any have. The sale of Turner was the final straw with me on Brown. He should have told DufferMan that if MT goes i go. That sale and the summer 2009 recruitement sealed our fate. Not to mention plunging the club into mass debt.
