Beautiful around there mate, spent a lot of time there and eze is a lovely town, not far from where princess grace died in the mountains. We used to go to the perfume factories there’s 2 or 3 of them in the town and of course the weather is always great

Quick story.

We did a transport job for a titled English Lady from Eze to Llincolnshire. She'd sold her beautiful but ageing villa to Russians who were going to totally refurbish it. She only wanted her personal things bringing back so gave us the keys and address ... 'No rush dear, stay a while, use the pool and eat on the terrace by all means ... the Russians have completed the sale so they're paying the bills.'

We drove down and arrived, magnificent!!!

I managed to get the electric on, moved a king sized bed into the living room with massive patio windows overlooking the sea. We stayed for six weeks and spent more than we made on the job.

This is the view we woke up to every morning though :emoticon-0103-cool:

It just gets worse, so much for taking back control ...

... they can't even control their own party <doh>

“It’s the same standards, to the same test method, the same everything – and it would have to be paid for, ultimately by the customer, for us to retest material to a test that we already have, to a standard we’ve already done it to,” he says."
Well, at least they got rid of all that EU bureaucratic red tape <doh>

LEO MCKINSTRY: How my vain attempts to find a builder in Brittany lay bare the reasons Brexit Britain is powering ahead of the sneering French

Ever since the vote for Brexit in 2016, the Remain lobby has been peddling its gospel of gloom about Britain's inevitable decline because of our supposed isolation on the global stage.

Yet their dire warnings have never materialised. On the contrary, the UK has shown astonishing resilience during a period of turbulence that has included the Covid pandemic, the war in Ukraineand the energy price hike.

Far from sliding into meltdown, the economy is performing impressively on a number of fronts: inflation has fallen dramatically, public finances have stabilised, Government revenues are buoyant, and wage growth is outstripping price rises.

The upbeat mood was encapsulated in the words of the highly respected banker Jamie Dimon of the global giant J.P. Morgan during a summit at Hampton Court. Once a stubborn critic of Brexit, Dimon — who is now an admirer of Britain's approach — told the Chancellor Jeremy Hunt: 'You guys are doing great.'

I didn't understand any of the arguments regarding Brexit ...

... I don't even believe the politicians did tbh.

The EU is far from perfect but it is a large market for exports and a good source of imports. It's not even an issue, for us, if certain countries are failing in certain aspects, it doesn't automatically mean we're affected.

It just seems that the years tick by and all of the benefits, we were promised, still seem far away.

And the zero benefits are outweighed by the myriad of disadvantages. Thatcher ruled out a referendum years ago as she said it was far too complicated for the average man on the street to understand.

I voted remain and did not understand why so many wanted to leave.

Tbh mate I voted leave.
But then the leave campaign was all built on a pack of lies.
I should of really known better and feel a right chump for getting sucked in.

It's been a complete **** show and and we're paying a heavy price now.
In hindsight I would vote remain.

Apologies for being a nob ;)

I read that as well but I didn’t want to put it on here, it would upset to many of the remainers on here, poor lambs are just getting over Brexit. I notice they never put anything like that on, wonder why?

I have done and quite recently regarding Nissan and other aspects.

I don't quite see how the comments, in that article, bear any relation to the truth tbh.

"Far from sliding into meltdown, the economy is performing impressively on a number of fronts: inflation has fallen dramatically, public finances have stabilised, Government revenues are buoyant, and wage growth is outstripping price rises."

And, tbh, I don't think the super rich congratulating our Chancellor to be anything to celebrate.

Highly respected banker <laugh>

They’re still convinced we’ll be going back there in the not too distant future.

I almost feel sorry for them <laugh>

Almost.
