If you work and earn over a certain amount, you should not be able to claim free prescriptions for anything other than treatment for chronic illnesses or illnesses that stop you from working or indeed may end up terminal (i.e cancer )
You also complain about elderly people with a few bob getting free travel, don't you?

It would cost the government hundreds of £Ms to implement such a solution, it would also make people beel. How much do you reckon is spent per year on the people you don't think should claim free prescriptions? (genuine question)

60 year olds get free bus travel whether they are working or not, its ****ing nonsense. Whenever I have to use a bus (which is seldom) there are arseholes using their bus passes to travel 1 or 2 stops. ****s can't even walk 200 yards ffs.

Luxemburg have made travel free for everyone. What's wrong with folk getting free stuff?

They get free travel on trains which causes rows every day,you book a seat on a train and there's some OAP in your seat, plenty tell them to GTF and they do barely get out of the seat trick :cheesy:

btw you pay extra for your booking

Yes, it appears that way ...

Teh system is ****ed

Genuinely , I don't know how much but percentage wise ... Must be a good % of money spent to give scripts to people who could afford to pay .

As saffy says we pay a higher rate of tax in Scotland, I generally don't mind the idea of paying a wee bit extra to help people worse off than me but I don't see the logic behind giving everyone who's reached 60 free bus travel. It's a completely arbitrary number, 65 maybe or 70 but 60 ffs, it's absolutely pointless.

Years of Tory government has turned ****s against each other and broken down society.

'If they get X/Y/Z and I don't, then I'm going to beel until no one gets anything'

It's ****ing disgusting.

That's the opposite of my opinion...

I'll gladly pay for any prescriptions until I am unable to work .

And if my pensions work out , then again at that point .

60 is low,65 here which used to be the retirement age for state pension but up to 67 now.
