Much as I would love a second referendum, I think having one would leave a very bitter taste in a lot of people’s mouths. And not just angry old gammon. Besides, further delaying any sort of decision just leaves business and the economy confronted with more uncertainty.
There is absolutely no painless way out of this **** show, so yes, damage limitation is the best we can hope for.

The fuss over the backstop becomes moot if the solution that the Leavers say is possible becomes a reality.
So overall, despite me being firmly Remain I’d take this to get it over with and we can move on.
