But why not? We do the same with players? What's wrong with wanting better for the club? This whole the grass isn't always greener cries lack of ambition IMO. It's as if we';re happy with Rodgers and providing excuses for his failure - he lost Suarez, Sturridge is injured, the transfer committee are sh*t, he doesn't have enough money to compete.
If it's clearly not working with this manager, then why persist? 3 years of mediocrity (bar 13/14) is simply not good enough. Conceding 2-3 goals against mid table teams is now becoming the norm and heavy defeats are no longer a rarity.
Why does Rodgers deserve a chance? What has he shown that deserves more money and faith? Will he always live off the back of 13/14? Can he only ever be successful if he has SAS?
Getting rid of Rafa is arguable the worst decision this club has made because since then, we've replaced him with poor, mid table managers (bar Kenny but he was was out of touch with the modern game).
There were two posts in a row there which made context but only one suited your argument.
Three years of mediocrity well errr...except that one where we nearly won the league so that's only two years really then isn't it? but it doesn't count, it was a fluke I mean Kenny formed SAS didn't he oh wait that was BRbut he must must have won it in a raffle right??? Didn't people say we shouldn't look at Rafas past accomplishments when judging the present. Same with Kenny?
Mediocrity? First year when he came in and one where he failed to cope with losing his two best players (one of which may come back)? He's now bought more in but as you admit, you had him written off last year so why keep pretending youre judging? You've made up your mind.
Heavy defeats the norm? This year? One With 4 games played...ffs.
Actually, are you not the one who whinges about players not being given enough chance? So to reframe your own question, it's bad to do it to players but not to managers or maybe it's OK to do it to the one you don't like eh?
He deserves the time because that's the targets he set and was hired on the basis of. Nearly winning the league suggests there's something there; maybe a fluke but let's find out eh?
And as for anti grass is greener being a sign of mediocrity? I point you to my post directly beside the one you quoted: this is judgement year by his own time. If he doesnt do well he should be removed because he failed his own commitment. What about that says happy with mediocrity???
And then you say sacking Rafa was a mistake..well some would and did make the exact same argument's as you did above as reason to get rid of him. Which proves my very point. There's always a section of fans that will be impatient or not like a managers style and want rid during slumps. .so why should you be listened to by the club or those that recognise we aren't this winning club of days gone by and it's going to take quite a bit to make us that again but not the fans that said the same about Rafa, or Kenny?
Your example is the very definition of the dangers of grass is not always greener. You're now so anti BR you're twisting your own arguments in messy knots.
So to shorten this all down. The OP (me) asks since BR set the target himself should we not judge him on this year? Well you obviously said no, have him already judged and now every one of your posts simply sounds like a "BR out" campaign rather than a conversation or exchange of opinions. It's a demand repeated over and over with a bit of twisting to pretend its a conversation.
Lighten up mate

he's here this year. Repeating I want him out over and over is not going to change that. Only his performance or lack of this year will do that.
