OK, so we keep going backward and forward. Committee players vs his own he almost won the title, he had a terrible year etc etc. ..after his clear outs and buys this year the squad can finally be called his. He's had his three years and now by his own words it's judgement time. So is their any point in looking at his failures in previous years? FSG have clearly forgiven those as transitional. This year however it can't be swept under the carpet. So should we not just look at this year, critique this year's squad selection, tactics, subs etc? Judge him exactly as he has asked to be?
I'm inclined to say fourth or nothing but it's not always that straight forward. What if we see massive improvement on the pitch and lose out on fourth on the final day to a dodgy penalty? That surely wouldn't be fair? Unless, of course, you think it should be fourth with ease which is just ridiculous IMO
I'd be between the second and third choice depending on how we perform on the pitch. On current showing, I'd go with option two since the footy's been ****.
So 4th anyway could be falling over the line incredibly unconvincingly. 1-4 is with ease... OK. ..my poll descriptions are ****e lol.
After what will be 4 full seasons and a **** load of money spent we should be in the Champions League next season so 4th or there abouts and winning the Europy League.
Its not what we'd tolerate, its what FSG will tolerate. I'd personally agree with you, this is his season to do or die IMO
He'll have to deliver 4th this season or they'll shoot him and rightly so given the budget he's had to work with
I agree but I just have a feeling that quality football and fifth would satisfy FSG. And no, I can't see the quality football bit happening so fourth is still probably the bar
They wouldn't give a **** if you play like Stoke as long as he achieved CL for next season. Don't kid yourself, it's the direct revenue and the sponsorship revenue that the prestige of that competition generates that FSG are interested in. See Kenny's Coat for further details
So no one will mind if Brendan gets 2 cup finals but not top 4 and is sacked? Glad you edited your post lol about to take piss with the quality football comment
If we were playing quality entertaining football then the interest in the club would be there anyway. As I said above though, that's not going to happen so fourth or bust
Any evidence of them listening so far? And don't say the stadium, staying at Anfield was the cheaper option (not having a go at FSG, they've done as expected)
You could be playing like Brazil '70 and finish 6th and he'd still get the Yanks size 10 wedged up his crevice. They want revenue not pretty football, and it's not generated by tiki taka, it's generated by being part of the Worlds premium club competition
