Gettin an uber for some bumbles

Make it snappy yh

Sadly I think it will get worse before it gets better for the yank run clubs. Only my opinion but expect a gradual withdrawal of monies from the club before a sell off. I’ve seen this first hand with my own club, albeit at a much lower level.

The clubs owned by the yanks will be able to confirm that they have NEVER invested in the clubs and have not only incorporated their own debt in the clubs financial reports but have taken as much as the can, when they can

I must admit I was proud of my lot today, that statement was the ****ing bollocks. It was that good I could have written it <whistle>

We might be a bit **** and currently secretly owned by a dodgy as **** Oligarch who helped plunder the natural resources of a once great Republic, but we’re pretty boss at this integrity lark.

Up the dirty Russian cash Toffees <laugh>

Likewise with mine ... our owners could have trilled about taking us to where they have blah blah, given that they have totally transformed us ... instead their statement lumped us in with the rest and referred to them and other owners as being 'custodians of our clubs' recognising that owners come and go but nevertheless have a duty of care to the fans who will be there for generations ... not surprising that our fans feel a genuine connection there rather than just being a business interest ... <cheers>

I can’t argue even for the bantz tbh. They’ve done a boss job at your club.

Yup. They truly put all their eggs in one basket regarding Europe. Resigning from ECA was a massive own-goal since they bottled their new plans 2 days later.

Does anyone else think a lot of these businessmen/capitalists are just a bit thick? We're always told they are where they are because of their cunning approach to business and ingenuity but this has to be one of the worst business ideas in decades by ****ers already in heaps of debt. They jeopardised their existing steady income stream for pie in the sky and it's backfired.

I blame Baldrick as this was his cunning plan before they all went over the top

Agreed. Can't find a better example of good owners in modern English football than the Thai lads at Leicester. Haven't changed the badge, name or the soul of the club in general without consulting fans to appeal to a Far Eastern market to the detriment of supporters in Leicester.

Only criticism is their dodgy relationship with the Thai military junta but there isn't a single capitalist whose **** doesn't stink so...

They've done alright by Leicester and its fans.

Liverpool statement is pretty lame.

No apology - just "we're not participating in this venture anymore" or words to that effect.

It's like a grudging admittal that they can't do what they want to do so they've no choice but to back down.

Bastards.

As a Halifax town fan been watching this from afar like a dodgy snuff movie but thank god football triumphed over corporate greed.

Hopefully the clueless Shermans will f**k off and leave our biggest clubs alone now (but i severely doubt it)

I'll keave you with a quote from the late sir bobby robson from the bbc sport site.

What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes. It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city. It’s a small boy clambering up stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love.”

All the clubs should be thrown out of this seasons European competitions as punishment

And next season's as well. They've left the ECA so they can't qualify for UEFA competitions anyway, can they? Just make reapplying a long process.

Some points deductions in the Premier League seems reasonable as well. They've backed out now but they all technically signed the contracts for the Super League so they've still broken PL rules. Teams in the EFL have been docked points for less.

Unbelievablely this has made Mike Ashley go ever so slightly up in my estimation.

0.0001% to be precise.

Miracles happen boys.

Now bring on the Saudi's.

By current PL standards, even with their dismemberment history, they should piss the Fit and Proper Owners test!
<laugh>

Listening to Souness talk about all this, the only thought he raises in my head is;

When does he announce his dementia diagnosis?
