My club and maybe Liverpool at a push should be taking all of the heat for this by the way, because the simple fact is, if United stood firm and said no, this never gets off the ground.
Not being arrogant, it’s true, without United it doesn’t happen.
Liverpool and United were the ones that disappointed me the most. Like Gary Neville said, Chelsea and Man City are 'new money' so this money-grubbing by them isn't a shock. Arsenal and Spurs just want to stay relevant at any cost.
But Liverpool and United are two clubs with massive history, a history that started with the working-class in the North West. Glazers and FSG are spitting in the face of every Liverpool and United supporter born and raised in those cities in order to pander to 'fans' thousands of miles from Liverpool and Manchester who've never set foot in Anfield and Old Trafford. Utter disgrace.
