Prediction League BPPL - Post Season

Final legs of the season coming up this weekend! Some stats from this year to keep you entertained in the meanwhile -

• This season's 1st Division Championship was @william5551 first piece of silverware, despite in the three years since admission to the BPPL recording finishes of 2nd (tied 1st), 2nd and 1st. Can he go on to challenge the legacy of @BluefromBridgend?
• The Curse of the 1st Division title is very much real - 4 of the 6 winner's title defense has ended in relegation to the 2nd tier
• The fight for relegation has never been closer - a record of only 4 points separated the Top 4 and the drop zone. This is the same figure as last year but remember that the scoring system has changed.
• After several seasons of struggle, @ccfcremotesupport has completed his highest placed finish since his Runner Up season in 2013.
• And further heartbreak for @taffthefish after he is relegated for the 2nd time (like City finishing last in 13/14) - this time he achieves the highest points tally of anyone to be relegated (regardless of scoring system)
• Whilst not a scratch on his first 2nd Division title, @whiffletree becomes the first to win the 2nd tier twice - and such keep up his solid record at that level (2 title wins from 2 seasons) A record @Oldsparkey can only dream of!
• Following readmission to the BPPL, a 7th place finish for @Masky is his lowest completed

 

I'd like to add that my previous relegation was due to dropping out of the league due to internal conflict. The major shareholder decided on a kit change and team Taff folded. Like the Wimbles a re-org didn't have the desired effect.
Time to dust myself off and come back stronger next season.

Careful, Taff. Without an urgent reorg you could find yourself dropping straight through into the lower leagues. There are no parachute payments, if that's what you are looking for. What you really need is a sugar daddy/mummy. I hear Doris may be available?

Div II Playoff Final - FrankfurterBlue 3 - 1 Dai Jones
In a Playoff final that could have gone either way @Dai Jones backs the right scoreline but for the wrong team This allows a prediction of a Fulham victory from @FrankfurterBlue to win the tie and promotion to Div I! He will surely be ecstatic to finally succeed in gaining promotion, having manged to blow a wide variety promotion chances over the past couple of seasons! As he turns his planning to top tier survival, commiseration to Dai - who has had a good season and strong run to the final.

Capaldi Cup Final - Barry Tiger 0 - 2 Blue Sheep
It's a fix I can hear you all shout! (And you would be right... ) The big bad blue sheep is this season's Capaldi Cup Champion! BT goes for a draw (and Villa nearly did find a way past 10 men Fulham) and I find the necessary points to sneak a tight final from the results and Cairney's classy finish. Commiserations BT

Well! I reckon I'm the CCFC of the BPPL. Got the promotion that was not deserved! Surprised everyone and didn't play pretty football. Relegation predicted for next season since it's hard for me to predict a loss.
Once again, many thanks Mr Sheep for all the efforts, especially the running commentary on performances. Also congratulations on the cup win. Commiserations to the unfortunately unsuccessful.

 

Thanks Sheepy Congratulations on your victory. I was tempted to back Fulham but would not have considered Cairny. Enjoy your holidays and come back raring to go soon!
