I will get behind the team and I wont get on the new guys back but this novice manager will not be getting any support from me until he has earned it. Cortese has mugged the lot of us off today and Liebherr will be spinning in his grave.

I think the Liebherr family were involved as well.

Could well have been. It seems fairly obvious that whoever made the decision doesnt really have the first clue about football.

He will if he stops getting the money from you buying your ticket. Just letting the club walk all over you. You said you hate the decision yet you don't do anything about it, I want to support the football club as much as any Saints fan but not at the expense of allowing the club to walk all over me and show the fans no respect

Nothing will change ..fact .. Firstly I have a season ticket and so my money was paid along time ago so no benefit regarding me not turning up financially for NC .. It's not just Southampton .. the fact is we have a new manager end of , I was so angry and shocked and would be all up for doing something if it would make an impact but it wont , if anything it will create a negative impact on the club and team not the chairman . If we boycott and protest and "do something about it " what will happen ? ...he will sack the manager and get adkins back ? nope ....and have you not seen what huge fan pressure and protest has done to chelseas home record this season ? .... fact is yes its 100% wrong but I dont ever see you or any of us changing it , football is too corupt and breads unloyalty ... fans just arnt as important as we shoould be and it will take something bigger than me you or any saints fan to change it

my vote shouldn't really count as i wasn't going anyway, but the best response to this decision would be for 32,000 people to be at st. Mary's with all of them (i'm sure the everton fans will join in!) singing "one nigel adkins" at the tops of their voices.

Then get on and support the team.

finally some sense .....

I know that, but would hope he's basing it on sound footballing reason. There is NO pure football justification for this decision. Its replacing a manager with a great record for one with an average (at best) record, less experience, NO experience of English football and one who can't speak the native language. Its a ****ing mental decision in ALL regards.

So if its not a footballing decision, its a personal one. I suggest its pure jealousy that Cortese hates the fact that Nigel is so popular.

agreed

If you want to support saints and show support for Nigel how about wearing t-shirts with Nigel's face screen printed on them?

You'll still support the team, show respect to Nigel and leave the new manager out of the protest so he can hopefully get the team motivated to do a job. The TV cameras are bound to pick up on the t-shirts.

I'm not going. Right now I don't have the energy for it and for me it is like an act of mourning. However, the reason I'm in favour of it is that its a one-off, then its done and we can show our support for the team again.

We don't want to become like Chelsea and spend the rest of the season booing. That definitely won't help the team.

Boycott a game - pointless and cause more harm than good on the Club!

Why would any support attempt to do financial harm to their club???

Lots of people boycotted in the Lowe era (not me I should add) and it did have an effect in the end. Was it a good one though? I would have said 'yes' until today.
