Dunno what to make of Fury last night. The optimist in me wants to think he simply used it as a nice bit of paid sparring with a vastly inferior foe and simply wanted rounds in the bank to help sharpen him up under fight conditions which of course vastly differ to sparring in the gym. The pessimist in me thinks, woah, that was a pretty mediocre showing. Got hit a few times, didn’t look to have much power and just spent three quarters of the night in pedestrian mode.... The whole pantomime nonsense with Wilder is really off putting too, leave that ****e to the WWE ffs <laugh> One thing I’d be sure about is the big American won’t be leaving Belfast with many sleepless nights after that showing.

Frampton looked good, again, and was so determined to get the stoppage in front of the Windsor Pk crowd. Good showing, huge guts from Jackson (who I’d never heard of before tbh) it must be said. And leading us up to a proper pick em fight against Josh Warrington who I thought Selby would breeze past, so I’m not underestimating him again! In fairness that’s two cracking big fights Frank Warren has put together and his team looks to be getting better and better. Thank god, as I can’t stand that arrogant prick Hearn <laugh>
 
Beeforsalmon that is exactly my reading of Fury last night, was nothing but a paid work out to blow a few cobwebs.

I think Wilder will beat him, i think Fury would beat Joshua and Joshua would beat Wilder due to the styles of each man.
 
I think one of the problems we have with Tyson Fury, is that he just doesn't fit the bill. Who fights like him? He's big, awkward and doesn't have any serious punch power. Punch stats have shown him to be usually light on numbers. And his fight style not only looks ugly, but bores most fans to death. He really shouldn't be any good. Maybe he's not, but he seems to just keep on winning.

The Saferi fight was just a small step after the nearly a three year lay off, and the Pianeta bout while clearly a step up, was more of a pipe opener ... he was expected to win every round, and he did. He'll never be the Mike Tyson thumper, but he's skilled at what he does. I'm not sure he can escape the destructive power of someone like Wilder, but I think if there's one man in the game who has the defensive skills to get it done, it's Fury. And I'm not suggesting that Joshua doesn't have a shot against Wilder, I'm just saying if anyone is more likely to be tagged by Wilder, it would probably be Joshua and not Fury.

Like him or loathe him,Tyson Fury is no mug.

I'd go, Fury beats Joshua, and Wilder beats them both.

Just a short time ago, Curtis Harper climbed into the ring to take on the up and coming prospect Efe Ajagba. Harper thought he wasn't being paid enough for the bout. He said he wanted to make a statement. I guess he did.<yikes>

I think I agree that Wilder beats them both but I'm beginning to think Joshua would beat Fury; only because I think Joshua would have the patience to wait and find a way through Fury's defence, whereas I'm not sure Fury has the power to ko Joshua

I think the Joshua - Wilder, Joshua - Fury and Wilder - Fury fights are all really interesting affairs Ron. Each has a speciality the others do not possess. But I suppose all combatants in fights fall into that category. It's just when it happens to be the best heavyweights in the game that it becomes more dynamic.

Wilder is probably the key to it all. As it's pretty much accepted that he's probably the most dangerous puncher since the days of Iron Mike Tyson, it becomes a matter of whether he can connect with that murderous right hand. A lot of people don't mention his left, but it's a hell of a weapon as well. So can he tag Joshua and if he does, what happens? Does A.J. have the whiskers to weather it? For me, that's a serious doubt. I'm not saying he doesn't have a decent chin for a heavyweight, but he has been rattled a few times by guys with much less power than Wilder. So if he wears a Wilder bomb, I think it's goodnight Irene.

But that's only half the story. What if Joshua hangs one on Wilder? (And that's a huge chance.) If what a 40 year old Luis Ortiz did to Wilder in that famous seventh round is any indication, there is next no way the Bronze Bomber will be able to keep Joshua off him if he wears one. When it comes to hunting down a wounded piece of prey, Joshua is a law unto himself. So who hits whom first? Wilder is more illusive when it comes to moving around the ring, but has a more porous defence while Joshua is technically better, but more clunky. Some have referred to him as being a bit robotic. But I have to admit that I was nicely surprised at his speed of foot when Parker chased him across the ring in their bout. I think he moves better than a lot of people believe. I think the build up to a title fight between these two would be amazing. I don't know how great the fight would be though. Both have been tentative of late. They'd have a genuine fear of each other's power, which could lead to a more cautious fight. It's something that could spoil the occasion for a lot of fight fans. Not me though, I loved the Klitschko - Fury fight. It was a real tactical affair. This Wilder - Joshua fight could turn out that way, sort of like the way the Joshua - Parker fight fizzled out. But who knows, it could be, ring the bell, BOOM, all over in seconds.

Fury is the enigma. He fights as ugly as ****, has little in the way of elite punching power and possesses what looks to be a horrible physique. He doesn't seems to have any of the attributes a world class heavyweight should own. He's the classic spoiler who gets by with a limited punch output. Yet for all of that, he's probably the most ring savvy of he three. We saw in the Klitschko bout, that according to CompuBox stats, Fury landed only 86 punches in 12 full rounds of boxing. But being the master of the spoil, he restricted Wladimir Klitschko to just 52 landed shots. His style of fighting lets him get off lightly when it comes to shipping blows. So, who has he met with power though? With the exception of Klitschko, he's not faced anyone with really serious hands. Joshua and Wilder would both be a major step up for him when it comes to opponents with hands of stone.

For me, any two of three three meeting in the ring would be the highlight of the boxing year. Sensational finish or ugly twelve rounder, it's all good. :)

I really felt for GGG when they read out the judge score cards for that fight DB. That was the time Adelaide Bird gave 10 of the 12 rounds to Canelo.

The CompuBox stats are something to read. Punches landed per round.

She should have been struck off. My feeling is that GGG won't be leaving it to the mercy of the judges this time.
 
Big news on the promotional side of the fight game. In it's efforts to make a stand in the USA, Eddie Hearn's Matchroom has just signed the WBA, WBC, WBO & IBF Cruiserweight Champion Oleksandr Usyk to a three fight deal. Known as the Cat, the south paw from the Ukraine has had just 15 bouts in his pro career that's been built on the back of the gold medal he won at the London Olympic games.

Knowing of Tony Bellew's desire to fight the winner of the Ali Trophy, Usyk called out the Brit. Bellew in return said he wouldn't fight Usyk unless all the belts were on the line. So now it's a matter of whether Hearn can convince the four sanctioning bodies to ok the event. The promoter has said as far as he's concerned, there a 60 - 70% chance that bodies will agree to the fight.

According to Eddie, Usyk want's the bout, but if it falls through, it looks as though he may give up all four belts and move straight to heavyweight. Again, according to Hearn, Usyk will probably meet the likes of Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora before a possible clash with Anthony Joshua. Usyk has made it clear that the man he really wants is Joshua. But will Hearn offer up his cash cow to the man many are now beginning to see as one of the premier pound for pound fighters in the game today? And as Usyk has signed for only three fights. It would be Eddie's worst nightmare if Usyk bowled over Whyte and Chisora then beat Joshua before ****ing off into the sunset. Which makes me think the Joshua - Usyk bout might be all smoke and mirrors from Matchroom.
 
Khan whilst a comfy winner on points was very lucky as be was saved by the bell twice ater being knocked down in r2 and r10 i think it was..
Brook will KO Khan 100%

Usyk is obviously a beast. He will brutally dismantle Bellew, but putting him against Joshua would be an almighty ask. I would fancy him to grind out points wins against Del boy and Where.

Didn't go down the second time. Nearly though and could have been finished off. He is far too vulnerable against anyone who can hit. Also his punches don't seem to carry as much power in this division and he needs the ref to step in it seems (unless he's fighting a nobody)
