Unfortunately I think it is mate. If he came back and beat everyone do you think he'd get the credit he'd deserve or do you think people would right AJ off as a hype job. I don't like him as a boxer I think he's **** and one of the worst heavyweight champions there has been but if he came back and cleaned house there'd be no excuses from me and he'd most definitely have my respect. As person I'm on the fence a bit with Fury. I think he courts controversy sometimes by some of the things he says but then you see interviews/chats/conversations where he's maybe not being the 'showman' and he seems a decent down to earth, honest bloke who id like to have a pint with.

Fury’s the true champion in my eyes, he never lost his belts in the ring. AJ was gifted them. Genuinely think he’ll play with AJ over 12 rounds.

Wouldn’t knock AJ too much for last night, yes it was a damp squib truth be told, but Parker is a skilled boxer, he’s very decent in the context of what we’ve around now. In AJs defence he boxed intelligently and used his classy jab to control the fight and showed he has the stamina. It just was a fight he seemed to hold back in, maybe he wanted to prove himself he could outbox a boxer, who knows. But yeah, Fury beats him and Wilder, he’s just on a different level in terms of boxing intelligence and ring craft. Wilder and AJ be swinging at thin air when the King comes back and I for one can’t wait to see it <whistle>

You know we disagree with regards Fury and i normally hate being wrong but i can honestly say hand on heart i couldn't give two ****s if i'm proven wrong about this. If Tyson comes back and takes his belts back what an achievement and not just in terms of sport but also given what he's been dealing with personally too. And what a spectacle those fights would be. Wouldn't it be great if we could see multiple fights involving AJ, Fury, Wilder. You just don't get rivalries in boxing like you used to i mean when was the last time two top boxers had a trilogy? Gatti/Ward, Barrera/Morrales, Pacqioua/Marquez. Off the top of my head i can't think of any more recent than those especially in the last 10 years.

I don't know how true it is, but I've just read an article on an online paper called Breaking Times, that Joshua's take home pay will be somewhere 18 and 20 million pounds. Parker is expected to get 13 million. I wonder just how much these guys will end up with after everyone gets their bit? And of course there is income tax. I wonder what Hearn and McCracken take from Joshua? The latter maybe 10%, but would Eddie take a serious slice? And what sort of tax rate would apply?


Anyone got ant ideas?

I think the cut was £16m Joshua to £8m Parker from fight purse but then there'll be add ons to that. I'm not exactly sure about who gets what but I reckon Joshua will get around 70% of what he earns (before paying the tax man).

Parker actually comes out of here with a lot of options. They could easily sell Fury v Parker, a) because it has form ties with Joshua and b) Parker already fought cousin Hughy. You’ve also got a scrap with Dylan White of course but it looks like he’s off to fight Povetkin given how that was promoted last night.

Parker could still make plenty more cash in the UK I suspect.

He didn’t really trouble AJ last night but I liked his confidence and fearless approach- he doesn’t look over awed by anything.

I was at the fight last night and the atmosphere was amazing. The build up to the fighters entering the ring was also great to see. I was a little disappointed initially that AJ did not knock Parker out but on reflection I think Parker has been under estimated. The guy can certainly take a punch and boxes very well. The fight wasnt helped by a referee who wanted to interfere too much.

Govetkin looked impressive on the night and he could enter the equation and challenge for a belt in the future.

I can't see Wilder beating AJ and I think he will be out boxed. Hopefully AJ can knock the clown out although I am not sure the fight will happen as soon as people think.

I cant see Fury getting back to the same level again. Too many issues going on upstairs and sadly don't think he will sort those out.

Overall a professional job from AJ and that's all he had to do. You can't expect to knock guys out all the time...

Just watched the ko. I hope he doesn't fight again. He is useless in that division. He will get seriously hurt if he continues. Give up now while you can.
 
The outcry over Canelo's positive finding has proven too much for the Golden Boy fighter and seen him pull the plug on the GGG bout. Golovkin is on the hunt for another opponent. I somehow doubt than Billy Joe Saunders will get the nod .... a pity.
 
Spike O'Sullivan apparently, I like Spike in fairness but that would be a complete mismatch. Don't think BJS would take it on 4 weeks notice and nor do I blame him, definitely need a full camp for GGG
 
I've just been trying to catch up with this stuff. Apparently Canelo tested positive twice in Feb, on 17 & 20. I can't verify it, but the forums are saying that he also tested positive again last Thursday. If true, he's certainly looking a little suss.
 
More twists and turns in the May 5 fight of GGG. Just when it appeared that Spike O'Sullivan would step onto Canelo's shoes for the bout, ESPN's Dan Raphael has revealed that multiple sources have told him that 21 year old Mexican banger Jaime Munguia might get the nod. He's 28-0-0 with 24kos.

And now things are really beginning to heat up on the Anthony Joshua front. The WBA have lobbed a grenade into the champ's camp. They've ordered Hearn-Joshua to negotiate a mandatory title defence against Povetkin within the next 30 days. As far as the WBA is concerned, Joshua-Povetkin will be the next cab off the rank. This can be trumped by a unification bout though. It seems that Hearn must have been expecting some sort of move by the sanctioning bodies as the chat lines between the Joshua and Wilder camps have been opened up, but it looks as though Povetkin has the inside running.
