The 19 year old American prospect Ryan Garcia today stepped into the ring for the 14th time. The super featherweight's opponent was the seasoned performer Fernando Garcia, a man who'd come up short in his world title shot at Jamie McDonnell in 2016. Garcia had a massive height and reach advantage though. But as Garcia is still learning his trade, Golden Boy can't be admonished for giving their fighter every possible chance.

That didn't last long Cyc. And speaking of Jamie McDonnell have you seen that hes going over to Japan to defend his title against Naoya Inoue. Massive respect to him. He's our longest reigning current world champion and is constantly on the road defending his belt and isn't scared of taking on any opposition. I like McDonnell but I think even if he had his twin in the ring with him here he'd still come up short. Massive ask for him and although he's beaten the odds before this is a huge task ahead of him.

Yeah I saw that Smoke, Jamie will have his hands full against the man known as "Monster."

Speaking of brothers fighting, it's as rare as hen's teeth isn't it? Can you remember any who have done it at the top level?

I suppose the Charlo brothers could do it. Can you imagine that? It would certainly sell, but it would be ugly.

Be very interesting dynamic to a fight but I just can't see anyone doing it. You have to go into fighting someone with some dislike and spite towards your opposition no matter how much you say its just business or just for the money. This sport and MMA you go in wanting to hurt your opponent to some extent and win so i'm not sure that if you're fighting your brother you could properly prepare or give everything in the ring/octagon.

Dillian "The Body Snatcher" Whyte v Lucas "Big Daddy" Browne. I'm really looking forward to this bout. I'm hoping that Lucas can make something of this fight, but the more I think about it, the less I like his chances. The weigh in was probably decided it for me. I couldn't find out the weight Browne carried into the ring against Mathew Greer, the first man Browne met since toppling Ruslan Chagaev 15 months earlier, but for tomorrow's bout he'll be a stone heavier than when he met the Uzbek fighter.

Whyte on the other hand has risen half a stone, but looks more bulked up. He doesn't look as flabby. The body snatcher is also 9 years younger. My big fear is that Big Daddy hasn't put in the hard yards for this, while Dillian seems to have worked his arse off. How good is Whyte though? He sort of rocked Anthony Joseph, but the champ really wasn't in any real trouble, and I think if they met again, A.J. would now make a mess of him. The only way I can get a bead on him, is to hold him up against Dereck Chisora. If the latter isn't all that crash hot, what does that say about Whyte? If Joseph and Wilder are the big boys and Parker just behind them, where does he fit in?

There are quite a few people messing about behind the top three. Folks like Povetkin, Ortiz, Pulev, Ustinov and Miller. And Whyte is in there somewhere, but where? Can he even beat Dominic Breazeale? Whyte has to do a hatchet job on Browne tomorrow or his bubble will burst. A lot of people don't think too much of Dillian because of his tendency to stuff both feet in his mouth from time to time, but I like him, I think he's a breath of fresh air. And I like the boy from OZ, so I guess I'll just kick back and enjoy the clash. Both have a lot to lose, especially Whyte, as he could lose both his WBC Silver Heavyweight Title and his WBC No 1 ranking behind Deontay Wilder.

I don't think either of them are what you would call top quality but I just don't rate Dillian Whyte so I'm leaning, albeit not with any great confidence towards a Browne win. I think he might stop him

Yeah you could be right Smoke, maybe the old bloke can get it done. Who knows? I agree with you, neither of them are elite. As for the fight, I just have this fear that this extra weight and age could be the finish of him at this level. I have the same fear for Golovkin too, as he'll be 36 when he again meets Canelo. After what happened to Roman Gonzales, I've become more aware of how quickly a fighter can tip over the edge, age wise. Nothing worse that seeing a fighter who once had quality, being punched to a standstill because of their addiction to the sport. Really sad stuff.

For the first time in a while I've actually had a bet on boxing done Browne to win in 11th round at 40/1. And for what it's worth in my opinion I think Golovkin will wipe Canelo out in the 2nd fight

It was a shocker, Browne obviously put little effort into his preparation. In the days leading up to the bout Chisora, who'd been working alongside Browne at Hatton's place, said that Browne was pretty easy to hit. Everyone in the gym must have known how badly out of shape Big Daddy was, but nobody, including the press said anything. The first time we outsiders got a whiff that something was amiss was when he stripped and walked to the scales. He looked bad and the scales confirmed it. Punters such as your good self Smoke were ripped off, as too were those who coughed up to attend. Personally, I think the whole thing stinks.

Here's an interesting meeting. After the exchange, Eddie Hearn couldn't stick the knife in fast enough. <laugh>

On the Whyte - Browne undercard, Frank Buglioni put his British Light Heavyweight Title on the line against the Commonwealth Light Heavyweight Champion Callum Johnson.

Buglioni wasn't happy. He would have been even less happy if it hadn't been stopped. One more big punch and he could have been in hospital

Obviously, the big fight next weekend is the clash of the two undefeated, heavyweight, world champions Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker, but there is another heavyweight fight which will be worth seeing. Big David Price, the man who of late, has been beaten by two drugged fighters, meets Alexander Povetkin, a bloke who twice tested positive to banned substances last year.

Dave's career was bubbling along nicely until he ran into Tony Thompson in 2013. Twice they met, and twice Thompson stopped him inside the distance. Two rounds and then 5. Thompson tested positive post fight. Price then won 4 before running into that cheating bastard Erkan Teper who smoked him in 2. He won another couple then met disaster against Christian Hammer who pounded him into submission in 7. He gave up exhausted. He's since had just the one fight, a six round affair against some bloke called Kamil Sokolowski, a Polish fighter who's record stood at 4-11-2. Dave clearly won on points, but looked pretty average in doing so.

So next Saturday Dave Price will seek redemption against the former WBA World Heavyweight Champion Alexander Povetkin. On paper it should prove to be a torrid old affair for Price. Bookies have Povetkin at 1-12 and Price at 19-2. The stats are really interesting though.

    Age: Povetkin 38, Price 34.
    Height: Povetkin 6.2, Price 6.8.
Reach: Povetkin 75 inches, Price 82 inches.
Weight: Povetkin probably around 225 pounds, Price probably around 250 pounds.

Looks like AJ wants to rip off Parker's head. He looks an angry bloke. <laugh>
