The Cuban Yuriorkis Gamboa, a former WBA & IBF Feathereight Champion fought Former WBO Super Featherweight Roman Martinez a couple of days ago in Baltimore. It didn't last long.

Matchroom's CEO and board member Frank Smith spars with the boss Eddie Hearn. <laugh>

Hughie Fury has signed with Matchroom. There is chat on the forums now about an opponent for Alexander Povetkin on the August 31 under card of the Lomachenko - Campbell fight. Dave Allen was to fight Povetkin if he could beat David Price, but he bit the dirt.

Maybe a Hughie Fury - Alexander Povetkin bout is on the horizon. If so, it'll be interesting.

I really like Peter Fury. He's probably a bit biased towards Hughie with him being his dad which is understandable but other than that I've always liked listening to his views on the sport. Generally unbiased and without agenda. Nice bloke. Would like to know what went on between him and his brother and why Tyson dropped him as a trainer.

Me too Smoke. The break down between the families probably comes down to a number of things which for the most part centre around Tyson. It seemed to all start when the champ began falling apart after the Klitschko win. Tyson was off and gone with the pixies and nothing Peter could do could prevent it. As a trainer, Peter is the consummate professional who has a hard fast approach to dedication to their craft, something Tyson didn't quite match. Their personalities were at odds with each other. John was probably caught in the middle.

But things took a turn for the worse, when Peter and Hughie paid a visit to David Haye's gym. Tyson had a huge public spit over it. Haye had pulled out of two signed fights with Tyson, causing a hit to the latter's hip pocket. Maybe the John -Tyson family felt betrayed by Peter's association with Haye. All a guess of course.

Anyway, the end result has been good for boxing. Through his friendship with Billy Joe Saunders and Ben Davison,Tyson again starting to warm to the sport. He's now back with some real conviction. Love him or hate him, Tyson is boon to the sport. He brings eyeballs to the game.

Well, well well, who believes Mr Tibbs then? And after the fight, he scampers off to foreign shores. <whistle>

Here's a really interesting interview. It goes for 35 minutes and touches on a glove issue I'd heard nothing about. The more we hear about the Whyte - Rivas bout, the smellier it gets

That’s some pretty astonishing stuff in that interview, about the gloves issue.

Does not put Matchroom, BBBoC or the Whyte camp in a good light at all.

After the WBC provisionally suspended Dillian Whyte's status as it's Interim World Heavyweight Champion and Mandatory challenger to Deontay Wilder's Title, the WBA has quickly dumped Whyte from it's rankings. I wonder if the WBO & IBO will follow suit? He's not ranked by the IBF.

Things are getting pretty murky with Whyte's tainted "A" sample. It seems that VADA have been testing Whyte for a while and found nothing amiss in the lead up to the Rivas bout. He was then tested by VADA after the bout and again tested clean.

It now appears that the problems arose from a UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) test about a month before the bout. It allegedly tested positive to epimethandienone and hydroxymethandienone – which are by-products of the body breaking down dianabol. And if that was a month before the fight, why did the Whyte camp have to request that the "B" sample be analysed? Why did UKAD put the "B" sample on the back burner? Why the delay?

And what's to be made of the CCCoC's statement that it deferred it's anti-doping programme and sanctions to UKAD? Does this mean they are attempting to pass the buck?

And why has UKAD, to this point, not released a statement?

****, it's all happening. After failing to find common ground on deal between Golden Boy and Sergiy Derevyanchenko's promoter, Canelo Alvarez has been stripped of his IBF Middleweight Title. According to the Derevyanchenko camp, Oscar De La Hoya's offer wasn't up to scratch. Oscar is pissed off about it all and is threatening legal action. De La Hoya said the money was decent, Derevyanchenko's people said it wasn't. Oscar said that Derevyanchenko's people didn't take the fight because they wanted Canelo stripped so their fighter could face GGG for the vacant title. Maybe he's right. From what I gather, Derevyanchenko's biggest purse to date was less that half a million, Oscar put 5 million on the table. Not excepted.

It's now expected that the IBF will now order a Golovkin - Derevyanchenko bout.

Don't ya just love boxing? <laugh>

Yes officially but now he's with Top Rank I don't think Frank has much input. Speaking of Tyson have you seen he's announced he's fighting another nobody, some bloke called Otto Wallin. I'm mean what is the point. It's like he's just trying to stay match fit for Wilder

I'm looking forward to the Adam Kownacki - Chris Arreola fight. Kownacki is a friend of Ruiz and likes to fight in the same manner. The fight might look a bit ugly, but it shows interest.

Eddie grabs Frank's Billy Joe. Sounds a bit off doesn't it?

Seems that Saunders has signed an eight figure, multi fight deal with Matchroom.

Very hypocritical of Saunders considering how much he has slagged Hearn off in the past.
    But money talks eh..
