Haha,

You're wrong on this, he's hardly gonna look the most graceful at 6ft6, but he has good touch, and good passing.

Scores the odd goal of the month as well.

We'll see ;)

All well and good but I despise players lacking mobility hence my current dislike for Fletcher... The premier league is too fast for them, built for Italy this lad.

For all we know, maybe Rodgers didn't give him permission to speak with us until they brought in another striker and now Ballotelli is signing, he can talk to us about personal terms etc.....

Accepting a big is the same as giving someone permission mate, they'd have had to have turned us down and told us to come back in the summer. If a bid's been accepted, a players representatives can talk to the buying club.

I've never seen Coates as immobile, not at all. Gangly, yeah, he's 6ft 6!

Look at Vergini, he's all legs, look at his touch and his comfort on the ball. I'd be very happy if we sign Coates.

No, Disco is right, once fee accepted, speaking terms is fair game.

They often give permission even prior to the bid being accepted. I think people are desperate to believe that something has held this back other than Fabios lack of intent to come here, completely understandable. I hope it's the case.

Well you watch a lot more footy than me mate and have therefore probably formed a more realistic opinion of the lad to me so I'll take your word for it.

No, my feeling is that Fabio has been stalling, and although it's a bit of a bastard, well, with talk of clubs like Inter possibly interested, why should he rush?

If he does sign, regardless of the delay, he will get my full support, and I will recall what he brought to us last season.

I stand by my original input that he's a good, not great player, who will improve, benefit the team, but will never be a world beater.

Happy if he signs though, as I feel we do need that kind of player, based on 2 games to date.

How do you think he would have fitted into todays team, and what impact could he have made?

Can't imagine him making much of a difference, but it's the old $64,000 question. We'll never know.

He'd have played where Connor did and Connor would have played where Fletch did I presume. I think it would have given us more energy, running and a focal point of the attack.

Bang on. With Fletcher out of that team and Wickham taking his place, who can actually play the role it would have been a different game altogether. Our team would have been much more together and with a cutting edge.

Mannone could have played up front and scored a hat-trick while Wickham in goal could have stopped Mata's goal. But we'll never know.

No, we do know. Wickham wouldn't have stopped donkey O'Shea from not stopping that ball from crosding in front of goal.
