can we all agree that we wont post anymore ****e on borini untill hes seen at the AOL cause im getting bored of all this now

No, I'll not judge until I know the full story. Hating someone on speculation is unfair imo. I'm annoyed it's dragging on and worried he may think he's better than he is and overvalues himself. The same applies to Connor. But until there's proof they both get the benefit of the doubt with me and I'd like to see them both sign contracts with Sunderland. I'm no gullible media sheep and I will not let them form my opinion for me. I'd rather keep an open mind until I learn the facts.

same im not saying whos fault it is or anyones actual fault we dont know things could just be progressing slowley like rodwells did aparently took 6 weeks so just got to play the waiting game

Poyet quotes should put people's mind to rest, Borini deal still very much on but if not then others have tentatively been approached. #SAFC

Poyet ‘still confident’ of landing Borini

GUS POYET insists he is “still confident” Sunderland will finalise a deal for Liverpool striker Fabio Borini.

It is almost three weeks since Liverpool accepted a £14million bid for former Sunderland loanee Borini, yet the Black Cats’ pursuit of the Italian still shows few signs of reaching a conclusion.

Sunderland have opted to persist in the hunt for Borini, rather than drawing a line under the chase, with the 23-year-old still at the top of the club’s summer wish-list.

And after tonight’s pre-season friendly victory over Real Betis, Poyet stressed that he remains optimistic that Sunderland can sign the frontman.

Poyet said: “We’re still waiting. There’s no more than last week, no more than next week.

“We’re waiting, but it’s still ongoing.

“I don’t think the word is ‘frustrating’ because we knew after he travelled (to the USA for Liverpool’s pre-season tour) and the (shoulder) injury that it would take a bit longer.

“We’ll keep working because we know him very well.

“It’s very difficult sometimes to spend that kind of money on a player you don’t know and you don’t know what you’re going to get or the character.

“If it’s a foreigner, he might not adapt quickly etc.

“Fabio ticks all the boxes because we know what we’re going to get and how important it is for us and the fans as well.

“I’m still confident it will happen.

“For sure, things are not worse.

“We are in a very good position... waiting.

“It’s that last step, that little thing that is going to close it.

“Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it takes a bit longer.”

Sunderland have been linked with Chelsea forward Victor Moses as a possible alternative to Borini, if the move falls through.

But while Poyet admits he has considered other targets, Borini remains his number one choice.

“The longer it goes, you of course have to start looking for other options because that’s my job,” he added.

“But every time you make a step forwards, you stop because you want Fabio. We’ll see.”

nailed on tomorrow for me like, just a theory, medic wont pass the medical until the muscle to skin surface bruising has gone.

Jeez he fell on his shoulder two weeks ago, sound as if someone went at him with a baseball bat. This is becoming a desperate attempt, I DO hope this comes off as if not SAFC will look stupid. I still say put a bid in for Welbeck.

If we were looking for a forward to sign I think Welbeck would be well back

Sorry but £14m he should be here I would have looked elsewhere as soon as he flew out to the US the fee had been agreed then. I also agree with Wellbeck but for gods sake get a centre half and left back

We could save the money get Alonso and Sinclair and use the rest to get another cheap striker and a young cb. Or spend it all on Borini.

I think we already do, it has become an embarrassment, when this saga began very few people thought Liverpool would get their money back, now we are pleading with them to take 14m, even though we seem to be the only takers at this price. Its risky, he appears not to really want to come, if he did, would he be the same player we all know from last season, no, not in my opinion, forget him.

I'm sick of the 14million crap more than anything. 14m is the absolute top end. He'll have to hit the goals nobody says he's capable of and win Italy caps nobody says he can win for us to pay that much. We can't have it both ways.

Yep.

If we actually pay £14 million he will have been worth every penny!

Yep, Same applies to Rodders 10m.

Fact is we've seen a fraction of the bent fee and that's all we'll see (still did em ;)) but we'll probably see the whole Hendo fee. Mig won't dislodge Courtois so that fee will fall a bit short but we'll still see most as got the number 1 spot at pools. All you can rely on is the initial fee which is the most important number imo.
