Vast majority are fiction yeah. Do the occasional auto biography but unless the person in question is controversial they don't tend to hold my interest.

And yeah it sounds a lot but I'm a quick reader so if I'm into something will generally smash it off in two evenings.

I don't watch any TV/films either so have plenty of time for it.
Same, by far prefer fiction.
Only two bio's i have found interesting were S.A.F and
Great read this one

Highly recommended
I worked with a little cockney guy who had one given to him by some Sheik or other whe he was in Saudi fitting speed limiters to buses.
He lent me it and asked for it back after 3 days because it meant a lot to him.
I managed to read about 40 pages and really wish i could have read more because it was very enlightening.

Yeah I've always found psychology interesting and been vaguely aware of Buddhism. Found out a year or so back that a lot of standard psychological therapy is based on Buddhist concepts so started looking into it a bit more deeply than I have before.

I use to be attracted towards Buddhism out of all the religions, I suspect it's because I like all the motivational stuff. Inspirational without someone telling you directly that's the path you should take.

Yeah that was always my take it on it too, liked the idea of finding that enlightenment in yourself rather than looking elsewhere for it.

It was only just after getting clean that I started looking into it more detail though. I go in with an open mind though and don't take it as gospel, some of it I find utter bollocks whereas other bits really profound.

Good to challenge your biases and force yourself to think in different ways.

Will add that to my list.

Read The Midnight Library recently after a recommendation. Very interesting concept.
Yeah I’ve just looked that up. Sounds interesting.

I'm a ****ing nightmare with books tbh. Read anywhere between 2-6 a month but I've recently got into a habit of buying **** loads thinking I need them but end up forgetting about half of them.

Means I have too much choice and end up slacking for a few days. Got about 12 unread at the minute and no idea which to pick up.
That sounds bipolar mate

Quite possibly mate. I was once told I might have BPD which is quite similar I think? Never got formally diagnosed though.
Yeah, it is mate. So is not being able to settle and concentrate watching the TV etc. I’m exactly the same. I rarely watch TV because I can’t relax and focus enough to see a program through.

Yeah that's exactly how it is for me. Just get distracted constantly whereas with books it's fine.

Last night's conversation has motivated me to go through my books anyway and work out exactly how many I've got which I haven't read.

Might even ask you lot* which one I should read next.
