Whilst the game is on, if you're giving our players any sort of grief, you are making us less likely to win that match. The angry screaming when Ingram has got the ball, or if we give it away at times, is the worst kind. Worse than actively booing at full time, because you're throwing pressure at our players whilst they're trying to perform.

I know I said this on the other thread but I make no apology for it. It's important. Crowds who back their team win more home games. Crowds who week after week get more and more wound up at their team lose home games. It doesn't matter how justified you think it is, or what the details of the tactical situation is. Discuss that on here if you like, but screaming it at the players will only ever make it worse.

I agree with you, BUT, a good manager should be able to instil enough resilience in the players to keep clarity of thought and not get distracted by the crowd, or at lest minimise the effect. I hope he is doing this in the background. He should know that if we are a work in progress, there will be times, especially early on, where the crowd will get on the team’s back. Preparing the players for that has to be part of his game preparation.

Not really.. He's had nothing but support since getting the job. Now surely after half a year or so in the job, fans can call out the crap when they see it.

I get where he's coming from asking the boos to be directed at him and not his players, he's trying to protect them. But id say the boos on tuesday night werent directed at the players, it was more at liam's tactics and pissing around at the back. A manager who's had 6 months at a club can surely teach the players that if plan a isnt working, here's plan b.

If he was any other random manager, who was an ex Brighton coach, or Rooneys no.2 at Derby, if he had no links to us whatsoever, they'd be a lot more fans on his back than he has right now, and imo it would be justified.

The boos when Ingram was standing on the ball weren't directed at Ingram?

I think it's fair to say the boos where aimed at him/the other players and the whole situation as opposed to just him. I think LR is underestimating how much his brand of football is disliked by the fans ATM. Or he's choosing to ignore it and carry on with his plan. Previous managers have been absolutely slated for having no plan B and LR won't be any different.

I can see what he's trying to implement and do, the big question though is he and the players good enough to deliver it

Unfortunately HT they were most definitely aimed at Ingram. And in the heat of the moment it made sense, taking a step back and looking at it we see the “bigger picture” Rosenior keeps banging on about which is why I think it’s wrong to Scapegoat Matty and instead focus on his lack of coaching beyond a plan A

That was being shouted. Long before anyone bood there were calls to get rid, or go long.. it was only when we got into the 2nd half when Ingram really looked lost and held onto the ball for a ridiculous amount of time that fans started to boo. Especially when we were 2-1 down and there was no urgency to do anything.

I get what Syd is saying, but you really had to be there at the game to see how bad it was and to get a feeling for the fans frustration.. when journalists are saying things like "i've never seen anything like it in football before" they're not exaggerating, it was shocking.

All I'm clarifying is that the boos were aimed at Ingram, despite a poster claiming they weren't. Several posters have taken umbrage at Rosenior claiming the players were booed, as if it's impossible to tell who the boos were directed at.

I was there in the South right behind Ingram, it was painful to watch him roll his foot over the ball and creep out to about 30 yards and do **** all.
