Im not sure of the ruling myself Mac3, it was just a Tweet i saw and thought id put it across. Hope he stays though.
Me too (posted the actual rule reading as you posted - looks like we're safe) Edt: unless they're selling him to someone else!
If they were the players we really wanted and the selling clubs weren't prepared to settle for less than we've ended up agreeing to. which two strikers of sufficient quality would we have managed to sign for 5 million each?
I don't buy this idea that they can't do it whatever the rule says. It's common knowledge that season long loans can be recalled in January. Bruce was talking earlier in the season about Graham being here until January at least, so he seemed pretty convinced a recall was possible too.
Has anyone anywhere said how much we've spent this window? I'm not being rhetorical, I thought they were undisclosed. Haven't we learned not to trust media evaluations of deals?
Reading that, he can't play for Spurs if recalled - is that right? Also, anyone know what time-frame we signed him on? ============== "Long Term Loan Transfers shall be for a full Playing Season; or from any date prior to 31st August to any date between 1st and 31st January; or from any date between 1st and 31st January (the January transfer window) to the end of the Playing Season."
This has been proved time and time again in many different variations. Yet some simply accept media spin of other clubs (of course they're going to say they got a good deal) or press speculation as fact.
A lot of Spurs fans are confused about this guys. Everyone at the club loves Jake as he's a local lad so to see him play well in the Premier League is fantastic. That said, he's down the pecking order here at Spurs (or so most of us fans believe) with the likes of Paulinho, Sandro and Dembele plus a couple of others possibly ahead and so a lot of us are wondering why on earth (if true) we're recalling him. Having said that, and I may be wrong but I was under the impression you cannot recall a player from a loan spell at another Premier League club, as I said I may well be wrong but I'm positive I've seen this topic brought up before with different clubs. Lets not forget it's the Daily Fail that's reported this also, so as of right now, unless anything official is announced I'd take their headline(s) with a very small pinch of salt.
To be fair the mens rules are the same except her is replaced by his and she by he. 6.6.3 - A Player on Long Term Loan may not be recalled, except for a goalkeeper or where the Player is to be transferred permanently by the Club (or club) holding his registered contract. A Player other than a goalkeeper so recalled cannot be permitted to play for the Club (or club) holding his registration after such recall until the end of the Playing Season. Players so recalled can only be replaced by a further Long Term Loan with permission from the Company. Long Term Loan Transfers will not count against the number of Short Term Loan Transfers.
