The truth is away from home teams come at you a lot more and although we have been in good form away from home we rode our luck against Leeds and Hull at times. That is the kind of division we are in and as you rightly said we move on and if we win our home games we should not have anything to worry about.
We needed to get De Ridder on the ball where he could run at the opposition but he never really got the chance. I think that often Guly receives the same kind of criticism that Sharp has got today, saying that he is lazy but when you are playing up front away from home it can be tough.
This was like watching the Reading v Saints and Leeds v Saints match all over again, very similar... Why do we play so bad on TV?
It's the changed timing of the match, means we know all the other scores and it ****s with our players' mindsets.
Finally got to watch the game, and to be honest, I bloody wish I had stayed out longer That was one of the worst performances of the season, I'm not going to single anyone out but all will need to improve their game drastically or we won't be getting out of this League
Looking at the pre match interviews featuring the training sessions during the week, four players were wearing those test gismos which monitor performance, Lambo, Frazer, Dan H and Barney, 2 out of four didn't make it today. Not sign of Tadanari Lee at all.
Well, for Guly haters, be aware that he is the picture in the Official Calendar for April, if the jinx continues he will be out very soon for some reason, (March was Frazer Richardson Correction Dan Seaborne!)
Said before that late matches don't suit us, especially knowing one win would probably do it. However, the result was more to do with Blackpool sussing us, like Bristol City. We like to pass around and build slowly, close us down and be fit enough to continue that to the end is the way to do it. Usually, our defence and fitness allow us to ride it out and score late, but they outplayed us all game. End of...move on. We are now back in the position we were a couple of games ago, 2 above Reading and 6 above West Ham (but they now don't have a game in hand). Also now only 6 games to go. Still in our won hands and can't see WHU not dropping points. I didn't want to go into the Pompey game with it being important, but again we will already know Readings result from Friday. Then Crystal palace on Monday. Important week coming up...sure we will not play as badly as yesterday. COYR
We played worse (a lot worse) than that against Leeds, but somehow came away with 3 points. Yesterday was just one of those games when nothing went right for us, and everything went right for the opposition. At 2-0 we still looked like getting back in the game, but their third killed it off and heads dropped after that. We had a bad day, but not as bad as West Ham did. Now it's up to Nige to get the mindset right for p*mpey.
