Yeah, we were horrific that day <laugh> Thanks for reminding me! I think it didn't help that I was such a Pardew fan. O well.

I think too many players performing below par at the same time. We're the tactics at fault? I don't think so, it's just that Blackpools were spot on and they gave us no time on the ball at all. I lost count of the number of passes behind when the player had gone forward and viz versa. Poor all round and even Lallana was making errors by the shed load. But this is where we draw a line under it. We win next week, and things will feel an awful lot better.

if they play like that against pompey, pompey will think they have a chance of staying in the league.

Wondering now whether a Reading win was the result we should have hoped for today (most of us). West Ham winning would have still given us leeway of another game to lose and still stay top. And West Ham still likely to drop points before end of the season. Whereas Reading... well, I can never see them dropping points.

Performances like today's really make you realise why third place would be a disaster for us. What's the chances of maintaining consistent performance - under TV pressure at that - with games like that? One lapse of concentration like today, and that's it.

Does anyone know how long Lambert is out for? If he's out of the Portsmouth game then I might as well hurl myself from the Itchen Bridge right now.

Did we play well today? Well no, of course not. And unfortunately for us, it was against a team who had the quality to take advantage of that. In particular, the pace of Phillips and Ince caused some real damage. But it was one game. One. And one where we were without Lambert and Richardson, and had to move Guly out of RM (with injuries to Connolly and Lee as well, we had little choice but to play Guly up front).

I really wish more people would listen to Adkins' words when he says that we shouldn't get too high when we win, and too low when we lose. Seven days ago people were planning their trips to Old Trafford and Anfield. Now people are questioning Adkins and saying the next game is must win. How can one result make opinions and views go from extreme to another? Find the middle ground, sit in the middle ground. Don't go dancing down the street one week and a win, and cutting your throats the next week when we lose. Accept it, and more on. Adkins will, the players will, and I will.

We're a step closer to promotion, that is a fact. Some people need to look beyond this isolated result, and realise that.

West Ham lost 5-1 at Ipswich...Reading lost 3-1 at Peterborough.....bad performances happen...it is all about keeping consistency, and we have been the most consistent side all season. A good win against Pompey next week and this result will be forgotten.

I think Adkins decided it was best to leave Lee and Lambert out so they would have recovered in time for the derby match.

Well done Blackpool, you deserved the win today, but it is now time to stand up and be counted in our next home match; win our home games and we will be promoted, simple as that.

Jordan Sibley tweeted: "Rumours of Lambert having an op & out for rest of the season are wide of the mark. Trained Thursday but not quite right for today #saintsfc"

#Saintsfc boss Nigel Adkins dispels online rumours that Rickie Lambert has had/needs an operation - a categorical no. Could be back nxt Sat"

Why does everyone look to the strikers when we loose? Our midfield offered them nothing today. Nothing.

Lallana & Chaplow rarely got beyond, Shniderlin was happy pushing it sideways. Cork ran a lot.

Agree 100%. Morgan, Cork and Chaplow just never, ever got into it. And one cross aside, De Ridder offered nothing when he came on. But yet Sharp's getting in the neck, seemingly just because he's a striker.

Agree. Any of the 11 players can take a penalty... but there we go.

The whole team performance (apart from SKD) was a 4/10....we were disjointed and poor defensively, but it might have been different if we managed to score first...Goals change games and they scored from a dodgy penalty and a route one goal...Draw a blue line under it, I very much doubt if we will play as badly as that again in our next 20 games.

Just when the nerves were beginning to settle.....

Yes, we'll all feel much better after the next win, but between now and then.....

It doesn't help either that we never seem to know the extent of current injuries. We need Rickie back and quick.
