It takes a matter of seconds to change a game. One flash of brilliance is all it takes. THAT's why I was so sad to see VDV leave. O.k. Maybe his fitness wasn't the best, maybe he couldn't do more than 60-70 mins. But, he could do things that no player we have today can do.

I don't think we should forget that we have Erikson who is our stand out player along with Kane who can make things happen. By the time VDV came to Spurs he was very much the finished article, our current players are in the development stage.
In our understandable annoyance at losing VDV, perhaps before we had to, we should not lose sight of the fact that the current Spurs squad has more potential than perhaps any squad we have had for years and much of it home grown. This is not an accident, as the investment in the training facilities proves, well done Levy for that.

Eriksen and Kane are two very good players. I also have hope that some of our other emerging players, such as Bentaleb, will prove to be top drawer too. However, you can't teach or learn what players like VDV could do - it's instinctive, a gift. You either have it, or you don't.

I do think Eriksen has it though. Its not as refined as VdV, quite, but he is considerably younger

Some quality strikes in there.

Without a doubt one of my favourite players ever to have seen in a Spurs shirt. In so many ways he was the embodiment of the club.

I guess it would be wrong to admit I enjoyed the way Ibrahimovic slammed a completely unnecessary and entirely intentional elbow into Terry’s head, or that it did a lot to improve my opinion of him.

I am watching Inter v Real at the moment. What the hell does Bale look like these days ?? A stupid 2 inch ponytail at the back of his head. If a mother did that to her 4 year old son, she would be done for cruelty.
