I have often wondered where Atletico find this seemingly endless stream of top class strikers? They sell one for a huge amount and immediately seem to have another. Those two both did exceptionally well, but they're one offs- unlikely to happen again as their best players are immediately poached.
It wasn't just the strikers though; that Atletico team was superb back to front; remember - they secured La Liga with Costa limping off after about 10 minutes. But you're right; the success of teams like Valencia, Atletico and Dortmund in recent years is inevitably and unavoidably short lived, as the usual predators will buy up their best players and all other targets. The incredible thing about Simeone is that he's somehow held it together to finish a very respectable 3rd, with a QF in the CL thrown in for good measure. Don't what the heck went wrong at BvB but Klopp seemed to take it on the chin. I guess that's what makes it all the more exciting; knowing that this season could be the one in ten that history is made.
Nobody wants to see this..... A Noxious Odour is following you @a-noxious-odour is a fellow member of this site, but has never posted?
Yep, I'd worked that out. Presumably created just for the one joke of having it following you Although it says 32 year old female, so not ruling out that they've fallen for my cute turn of phrase
In a turn of superb comic timing, I let one off in the lift shortly before receiving that notification. Upon my return to the office, my boss asked me why I was giggling like a little girl.
Broad's 8-15 are best bowling figures in Ashes apart from Laker's performances in each innings at Old Trafford in 1956
