I'm glad to see the penny has dropped. Whilst you may take some pleasure from the demise of other teams, there is no benefit to Spurs.
Both Manchester clubs will see the title as an absolute priority with no distractions. Rooney's injury v Bayern in the CL Q-F last April cost Utd the title (to Chelsea). There will be no such beneficiaries this time.
The only encouragement should be the lack of any inspiration for Utd. Some perspiration (although there was too little time to open up Harry after Tom and Dick had collapsed), but insufficient quality shown tonight to beat a team who would suffer by comparison to Stoke or Norwich.
