Like Brian, I was there too and really don’t remember it being such a **** performance illuminated only by Martin Chivers doing what he did every week. Probably a result of seeing it through the rose coloured glasses of a 12 year old fan! Gillie and Parking Meters were particularly dreadful that day - and I’d completely forgotten Peter Collins played in place of Mike England. That’s still one of my favourite all-time Spurs squads
I was there too. My uncle and cousin were Villa fans and had tickets too so we went together and met up afterwards. Villa played very well and on the day the only real difference between the sides was Chivers.
My mother was in charge of the laundry? She wasn't very domesticated. I lost a number of Spurs shirts to washing and ironing accidents in those days. Most were turned pink. I got one for Christmas about '74, She'd killed it before New Year. By the time of the Admiral kit of '77, I was doing my own laundry.
We had an away kit with a yellow shirt and navy shorts and those socks. I really liked it but was in the minority!
My memory of that cup final were the young female Villa fans after the game crying their eyes out. But then again....many a time I wanted to cry my eyes out after a Spurs performance! (but I'm feeling much better now!!!!!~?)
I had a five pound bet (a lot of money in those days) with my games master and form tutor (a brummie and avid Villa fan) that Spurs would beat Villa. When I tried to claim my winnings he tried to say that as a teacher, he wouldn't have been able to take the winnings from a pupil so I shouldn't expect money from him. Each day a registration I reminded him of the debt until eventually he took me aside after everyone else had left and pulled out a fiver, and then said 'here's your money, now shut up about it'. Perseverance paid off.
I didn't mind the yellow socks. It was the oversaturized colorization turning the navy blue royal blue I didn't like.
Ilias Chatzitheodoridis has joined Cheltenham on loan from Brentford http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42748983 One Ilias Chatzitheodoridis, there's only one Ilias Chatzitheo.... - it might need some practice that one
I was at this game ,had a union Jack with " come on spurs it's double time again" painted on in white letters . Me and my mates took this to home and away game for 2 season' until Forest fans stole it off us
"Although Tennys Sandgren is a tennis player from Tennessee, he is actually named after his great-grandfather who did not play tennis and was not from Tennessee." Wikipedia. I enjoyed reading that, for some reason.
