Well yeah. No point buying a carbon frame and bars etc to save a couple of kilos and then plonk a 20 stone fatty on the saddle.
I did like the RT80, but compared to a decent aluminium it felt like ridding an elastic band. Planet X and On One.....same company. Road bike, mountain bike
Weight of the bike isn’t an issue. It’s the weight of the ride and w/kg. If you have a 6.5kg bike, weigh 93.5kg and put out 200w, then a bloke ons 10kg bike at 80kg putting out 200w is gonna be faster. having better kit is always great, best upgrade is to lose a stone and ride more. saying that, Di2 is a ****ing brilliant upgrade.
Rider weight makes a big difference obviously, but weight of the bike is always going to help or hinder the rider. Even a fat **** will be able to accelerate, climb hills and move off from a standing start quicker on a lighter bike. One of the easiest weight saving options is switching to tubeless tyres. The weight saving is huge and given that the rolling resistance is also lowered it makes a massive difference.
Nah, it's nice. Not ridden it in ages. Not sure how safe I'll be without sight in my right eye. Might have to get a mirror for it
