I cycle through the winter. Decent water proof shell and gore tex shoes and socks. Love being out in it sometimes when every other pussy is hiding indoors
Castelli ROS jersey/jacket in all but frost and some good overshoes or boots if really cold. Like hiking, walking, running. The right gear makes it.
when the weather is bad I will sometimes use the MTB. Enjoy some trail stuff. Apart from shoes I use the same kit
Fair play if you want to spend lots but not for me ! I know people the spend £250 on helmets . Same on cycling shoes . **** knows how much on shorts etc . But each to his or her own
if you don’t spend loads, how do you know if it’s good? would you put you head in a £5 helmet of a £150 helmet.
Cycle specific kit is ****ing expensive. But you don't need to buy everything with a cycle brand. Maybe a bit different for road clothes. But my mtb kit consists of a Sondico training jersey (£10 from Sports direct) Endura MTB shorts (okay they are cycle specific because they've got padded inner shorts and click together with the outer shorts, I think they were £60) Seal Skinz waterproof socks (army surplus from ebay £10) and a pair of Garmont gore tex flat sole appraoch shoes (£65) I've then got a cheap regatta shell for when it's raining (£25) And I spent a bit on the helmet as you want proper protection there, that's a Specialized and I think it was about £90
