This system has the advantages of last year's, with fast-counter attacking and would allow for Sterling, Lallana, Coutinho to switch around as wished. You don't have a good DM til January, so Gerrard must do, and Henderson's pace and energy provides effective foil for linking defence and attack.

Gerrard and Hendo partnership...? I take you don't watch Liverpool or England much...?![]()
No question for me, got to be Flanno.
Also, the line up I picked is based on my small, medium and large cogs theory.
Small cogs are the players. We don't have any world class stars in our side so this is a bit of a non-entity at present.
Medium cogs are partnerships. Whether they are decent established or potential partnership:
1) Hendo and Flanno
2) Moreno and Lallana (albeit brief evidence)
3) Allen and Hendo
4) Coutinho and Lallana (both can play each role so as potential)
5) Coutinho and Sturridge
6) Coutinho and Sterling
7) Stelring and Sturridge
There is only one large cog; the team. Small cogs are a minor part of this theory, the most important factor is the large cog and the only way this one works is if there are plenty of working established medium cogs. Seven is a decent amount but it could be better, especially defensively!

Lets build a team based on this list and see how it looks.
Mignolet
Flanagan Skrtel Lovren Moreno
Gerrard Coutinho
Henderson -- Lallana
Sterling
Sturridge
I think it is an interesting team actually. A bit light in the middle though.

Once all are back I would go with
GK: Mig
RB: Flanno
LB: Moreno
CB Skrtel
CB: Lovren
CM: Hendo
CM: Can/Gerrard (once he has had a decent break)
CM: Lallana
RF: Sterling
LF: Coutinho
CF: Sturridge
Basically what we had the beginning of last season whilst Suarez was out, but with more on the flanks and a stronger more mobile midfield
CM

Moreno, Lovren, can and Lallana didn't play for us last season
Plus Flanno wasn't involved that early in the season either![]()
Start with Lallana and bring on Coutinho as he seems to make a real impact from the bench.
---------------------Sterling---------------------
------------Sturridge-----Balotelli*---------
I think Sturridge's return will make it a lot easier for Ballotelli to play his game. Against Spurs they showed alot of promise. He's certainly not enjoying playing as the sole striker.
Feel free to send him back to us then![]()
Gerrard at RB?![]()
