I’m thinking that we might have just had our best ever December, certainly in terms of overall results; won 5, drawn 1.

We’ve had some cracking results and games in December - Fulham and the memerable Boxing Day comeback against the world’s biggest club spring readily to mind, but a haul of 16 points (or 11 in old money) is possibly our best ever?

Anyone be arsed to get the record books out?

I seem to remember 2004 we won every game including the 4-2 game at Sheffield Wednesday and I think the 6-1 Tranmere game was in there too.

That Leicester game we should have won as well! We should have murdered Leeds by a bigger score, 6 or 7 wouldn’t have been flattering.
I don’t recall seeing such a one sided game ever.

That Leeds game was an absolute joy to behold and was one of the best City performances at the KC.

Bruce actually bollocked the team for "showboating" rather than scoring more goals.

Colin was their manager at the time.

Warnock said that they were flattered by the score and losing by 6 or 7 wouldn't have been harsh. The sight of the few remaining Leeds fans greeting their players with chants of "What the ****ing hell was that?" was wonderful to behold. At the time I was told not to overdo it because of heart tablets I was on. But celebrated that win so heartily I ended up in hospital for 9 days. Not that the wife has ever mentioned that since everytime I have a skinful.<laugh> The fact it has happened on more than one occasion since involving drink and City matches doesn't help either. I put it down to coincidence.

An actual quote from Colin, " I just want to reassure the Leeds fans, we will improve, we'll get some players in and we will improve. We won't be as good as Hull City, but we will get better".

That must have gone down well <laugh>

The sort of memories which bring a warm glow in bad times.

My husband has had a quick look and in terms of points gained plus the results cannot find a better December. In Dec 1932 Hull City had an unbeaten run of 8 games which included a cup replay with results W3 and D5, but that could only claim the most matches played unbeaten in December.

Hope that helps!
